more comfortable. jaebum watched intently as youngjae striked a elegant pose, looking straight into the camera with a fierce expression in his eyes. jaebum had never seen this side of him before, not when they were still together. youngjae used to be camera shy. only after jaebum promises him something, from paying for delivery to finishing (or as youngjae would like to say, "assisting") a photo assignment for him would youngjae be willing to be jaebum's muse.

more confident. youngjae combed his fingers through his hair, as he looked up to the ceiling with his side profile towards the camera. jaebum had never seen youngjae posed like that before. youngjae hardly reveals his face in the photos jaebum would take. in most of the pictures, youngjae had shown only his hands or any other part of his body (fully clothed). to youngjae pose with such poise made jaebum think about all that change youngjae must have been through after he had left jaebum.

happier. youngjae smiled at the camera with ease. the joy radiating from his eyes felt real.

their eyes met. jaebum could feel his heart burn up the longer he stared at him. jaebum felt like it was a sin to be looking at him for so long. youngjae's smile gradually fell. jaebum didn't blame him for that. jaebum was about to look away before he realised youngjae's soft smile slowly revealing itself to him. jaebum could feel his whole body freeze, unsure of what to do but smile goofily at the younger one.

"youngjae-ah!" the photographer shouted. "one more shot and you are good to go!"

"okay!" youngjae said, his eyes still on jaebum. youngjae mouthed an apology to jaebum and jaebum waved his hands frantically, assuring youngjae that it was okay. he understood how busy youngjae had became ever since his photo of youngjae had fallen into the hands of a famous model agency. the makeup artist, the costume designer and his personal assistant, jaebum assumed, all swarmed in to adjust his outfit and touch up on his makeup.

jaebum still remembered youngjae had to be the one who did all of this little things by himself. youngjae even learnt how to put on his own makeup from watching youtube tutorials. they would have so much fun doing mini photoshoots in parks, along the han river, in the city or simply in the studio apartment jaebum lives in.

"hey, jaebum hyung!" youngjae chirped excitedly. youngjae always had this positive energy around him. it was impossible for jaebum to tell if youngjae was really in a good mood or in a terrible one. this was jaebum's problem. this was why it didn't work out.

"how are you doing?" jaebum asked. as soon as it slipped out of his lips, he realised how stupid of a question that was. it was pretty obvious how amazing youngjae was doing. from the daily instagram posts of youngjae hanging out with a group of friends at a party to a photo of him with every possible celebrity jaebum had never dreamt of meeting. youngjae was living the high life and jaebum was happy for him. sometimes, he wondered if it was because of the guilt.

"i mean, i'm doing well, i suppose." youngjae laughed, looking down his feet as his bangs fall gently, covering his eyes. jaebum resisted the urge to brush them out of the way. youngjae looked up again, taking a deep breath. "what about you? any new adventures lately?"

jaebum had started travelling around south korea, taking photos of city and rural life. he was surprised youngjae even had time to look through jaebum's gallery. it was on a website youngjae had created for him. he still remembered how much they would squabble about little details on the homepage and his biography.

"not really. i just felt drawn to seoul for some reason." jaebum scratched the back of his head, unable to look at youngjae in the eyes.

youngjae bit his bottom lip. "i mean, it's a pretty big city to explore and it's a wonderful place to live in."
