Lilly's POV

"It's 4! Why aren't the results out already?" Anoshinie said, with a tone of frustration in her voice.

"Why are you so mad? I'M the one that is in the dance competition" I said.

"Yes, but the results need to come out now ughhh" she replied.

Oh yeah, I should back up a step. The dance competition I referred to is a competition held at our university. It is a dance competition for freshmen held at the beginning of the school year. You enter by submitting a video and then eliminations happen and then you perform in front of the judges again and so on and so forth.

The catch was that since only the judges were watching you, and no one in the school knew about it (unless you made it to the final level obviously). This gave an opportunity to shy people who enjoyed dancing, which I really liked.

I was lucky enough to make it to the semi-finals (HOW???), so today the results would determine my place, either in the finals or at 3rd/4th rank.

"THERE'S AN EMAIL" Anoshinie screamed.

She glanced at the screen before even bothering to show it to me (I WAS THE ONE WHO TRIED OUT HULLO).

"Lilly you made it! You did it! This is amazing!!!!!!" Anoshinie exclaimed and started running around the room.

"You're kidding me right?"

"No! Look at this"

I got into finals.

How?

I really couldn't think when Anoshinie said "Um Lilly?"

"Yeah" I replied.

"You know who you'll be against?"

"Who?"

"Uh I don't want to put you down but you have GOT some competition this time"

"Just say it GOD"

"You're against Dominic Sandoval" 

"Okay...? I don't see why that matters? I mean yeah I have to dance with him but what's the big deal?" I asked.

"Lilly... he... you see... he is part of Quest Crew, which is a very famous dance group. And they are GOOD. I've also seen some of Dominic's solo dances, not to scare you but this is going to be hard"

"Are you serious? What the eff? So now I'm against this very famous dancer? How? Why?? How am I going to do this, this isn't fairrrrr" I said with a pout on my face.

"Lilly you got this! He's good but you will be amazing gurl" she said trying to lift my spirits.

"How have you not heard of Dominic though?" she added.

"I haven't. That's how." I replied.

"Plus it's just been a DAY, who get's famous in a day?" I asked

"Dominic" she replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Well, I do have to text him, the email probably has his number, doesn't it?"

"Yeah, it says 'contact your dance partner and create a dance that meets the aforementioned guidelines'" Anoshinie said.

"The number is ***-***-****" she added.

I received a text as I saved his number.

Dom: Hey Lily!

Dom's POV

"Can't believe I made it to the finals" I said.

"Heck yes you did, you're the best freaking dancer," Matt said.

"I'm not, but who am I against?" I asked.

"Lilly Singh"

"Who's that?"

"I don't really know her, but I have math class with her. She seems like a quiet person" Green said.

"Oh and she's REALLY smart" he added.

"It's been a DAY, how do you already know she's smart?" I asked.

"Oh you'll KNOW when you meet her" Green replied.

"Okay I should probably text her" I said.

"Here's her number," Matt said and gave me Lilly's number.

Dom: Hey Lily!

Dom: It's Dominic, the guy you're up against for finals

Lilly: Lilly*

Dom: What?

Lilly: It's Lilly, not Lily

"Matt you should've told me her name has two L's!" I said

Dom: My bad

Lilly: So, when do you want to meet?

Dom: Now?

Lilly: Sure! Around 7:00, at the Italian place down the road?

Dom: Perfect!
