Chapter 5: Let Go
I looked up at the ceiling. My mind empty. "Sian, are you ok?" I hadn't noticed my brother come in. I wiped the teary residue from my eyes and sat up. "Yeah, it's just mum called and ---"
"Mum called?"
"Yeah, I meant to tell you. Umm she said she loved me and that she needed your help." Repeating the words mum had said was painful.
"Where is she?!"
"I don't know! The line went dead! Look I'm sorry, okay? This is all my fault." By this point all I had inside was not wanting to let go but I couldn't stop it.
"Sian, don't cry. Please. This isn't your fault, stuff like this happens. I promise you everything is going to be okay." He leaned over and wrapped his pinky around mine.
I gave him a slight nod.
"I think you're ready. Come on, I'm going to take you somewhere."
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Just follow me."
We walked into the wood and I felt a sharp pain after that everything went black.
