Chapter 6: Light In The Forest

I open my eyes and see my brother leaning over me.

"Where am I?"my voice came out as nothing but a whisper. Deving didn't answer he just looked at me as if trying to find something in my eyes. "Ok, she's fine but don't do that again will you?!" he directed to someone behind him.

"I'm sorry, we are asked to take precautions, alot has been going on lately." The voice sounded familiar... Everything was dark. I felt Devin pick me up from the ground and start walking deeper into the woods. The more we walked, the darker it got. I shut my eyes tight and leaned into Devin's shoulder. Ït's going to be alright baby sis', I promise."

His soothing voice calmed al anxiety in me. I still don't know where we were but I was to weak to say anything.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devin put me down as we started heading to what seemed to be a tree house. There was a light coming from it. Enought light to let us see where we were going. I had regained my energy back. I glanced at Devind he looked back at me, right when I was about to open me mouth he said "Save any questions, comments, or concerns for later."
I finally got to see who the other voice was and just as I had suspected, it was Mike, my best friend since the first grade, and my crush since the fifth grade. He noticed me looking at him "Hiya."He smirked. I hadnt seen him since the end of the school year. His black hair moved with the wind. "Do I have somethign on my face? He asked. "Oh, err...no." I looked away as my brother climbed on the tree leading to the tree house. Mike went next and I followed. It wasn't such a long way up. We were greeted at the top by a short red haired girl names, Rayne. What I thought was a tree house turned out to be a mansion. On a tree. We were walking down a long corridor when I broke the silence. "Is this considered later?"
"What do you mean?" asked Devin.
"I mean, can I start asking questions before they start eating up my insides?"
Mike and Deving let out a laugh.
"Can't it wait two more minutes?" smiled Devin.
"I guess." I pouted.
Mike opened a dor at the end of the hallway. Inside waqs a long table and what seemed to be atleast twenty chairs to go with it. At the end of the table was a man who looked to be in his early thirties. He has his hair cut short and a scar on the side of his cheek. "Please have a seat." he motioned to the three seats on his right side. Devin took the seat closest to him and I sat next to him. I watched the man inspect my face. He let out a sigh and said "Let's get to it."
