Chapter Nine-

The library wasn't what I expected, most the books were old and broken. Nothing down here was new, apart from myself. I was inhaling the dust that was forming on the shelves of books. I was looking for some clue for the book that would help me save Raphael.  Nothing stood out for me, until we walked further down into the library when I saw it, just as if it were a normal book on a shelf, but it were pleated in gold that looked new.

"What's that?"

"Oh that old thing, it's or most ancient book full of dark runes here take a look, if you're planning strategies they might help"

He handed me the book, I'm guessing this was what he wanted to show me and how convenient it is that I needed this book. We walked back to his chamber in silence, but it was the silence where everything was awkward, no this was different; I seemed more relaxed around him. I could help but stare at him, he was extremely beautiful it's just too bad he's a monster. Yet again though I am, I always thought deep down that I was good but 'm not, stealing a book to help an angel just so I could prove that there is still goodness in me. It was just an angel. Maybe there is no point in saving Raphael. But Raphael pained face appeared in my mind and I felt ever so guilty of thinking that I shouldn't save him. I didn't notice that I was still staring at Marcus until he laughed.

"Admiring my beauty"

"You wish"

We were back in his chamber sooner than I knew it, it's funny how time is going by quickly here; I always expected time to drag more. I was just about to sit down on his sofa when Marcus grabbed hold of my wrists gently causing me to drop the book carelessly on the floor. I looked down at me feet too embarrassed to look at Marcus's face but that was impossible since his slender hand cupped my chin, making me look into his eyes. His eyes bored into mine, and mine bored into his, his eyes were so hallow, it was just darkness. I averted my eyes away quickly and he smiled at me. I expected a kiss considering how close together we were standing but he didn't instead he brushed his hand down my face still smiling at me. I stopped breathing completely. If he was going to kiss me he should get it over with but I suppose he was teasing me. After a short time he stop brushing my face and gently pulled himself away leaving me feeling hurt. I collapsed onto the sofa and Marcus bent down to pick up the book that I dropped, he handed it to me and placed a hand on my thigh.

"I know you're plan Victoria"

"What plan"

"To save Raphael, that's why I'm giving you the book"

"But, but your dad"

"He doesn't like me anyways, and every child is rebellious at some stage so hey you could say this is me being rebellious"

"So you don't hate me"

"No Victoria, it's probably too soon to say this but I love you, you want to be good, you're fighting against the monster you're supposed to be, you're trying to save an angel to prove yourself good so let me be with you"

"Um wow, that was abit"

"Oh shut up, look my dad made me your second in command, where you go, I'll go and anyways, I'm the only one who knows how to get out of here"

"You do?"

"Yes, now follow me, had me the book, I can hide it"

Then we ran, like two children in the night. It seemed quite romantic if it weren't for the fact we were ruining for our lives.I wasn't sure if I were supposed to trust him. I mean how would Blaze and Raphael react, if they found out I brought Lucifer's son back up with me? How could I explain this without being misunderstood?

                                                                                 ****

I haven't heard anything off Victoria or Blaze for a few days, every time I called Victoria it would go straight to voice mail. Maybe her vampire instincts have kicked in, maybe now she hates me. The funny thing is since I've become a wolf things are different. I blamed Alder for turning me into this monster but now I pity him, he was alone, had no control over it. I'm not bothered by it just the fact I turn into a hairy dog when it's a full moon but the rest of it's cool, being able to have strength, run fast, heal quickly. I wasn't the same Rosie I used to be. I had just phone Victoria again when Marcus and Wylan came running over to me. Marcus was laughing carelessly, how was it he wasn't worried about Blaze. Sure they've only being together a week but still. When we joined the pack I was scared because I was the only girl but they all welcomed me, none of them took much interest in me beyond friends apart from Wylan. I was getting used to his flirts and ass grabbing, but sometimes it was kinda off putting. Wylan stopped running up to me and casually strolled over to me shouting his usual, hey babe. I giggled, he was a good laugh at times. Maybe he had a lot of self confidence but he didn't hesitate to put his arm round me, I didn't pull away, it felt nice knowing that I had finally caught someones attention even if it was abit of a laugh.

"Oi love birds, training starts now"

All three of us ran back to base. I don't mean like a military base, I meant just an abandoned ship building site. When we had arrived, the rest of the guys were already there, relaxing, talking, smoking or drinking. We walked over and joined Derek, he was the leader. I liked him, he was great to hang around with and he cared alot for his pack, when we asked to join he was happy, he was complaining, cockily about his members. He also thought having a girl in the pack might set a spark for them so they seemed more lively and that failed, apart from Wylan basically following me around like a lost pup. Today's training was being able to control the changes, besides a full moon we could change when we're angry so we had to learn how to control that anger. We stayed up all night and kept practising fighting techniques until the sun was rising. I looked at Derek to dismiss us but he looked angry and I found out why.

"There's a vampire on our land"

He was right, I could smell it and something rotting too, I followed the pack to where we found the vampire this was the only time I've see Wylan not joke about. I didn't like his serious side, it didn't suit him. Derek was about to attack the vampire until I noticed her familiar face. How did she find me? And who was that with her? Victoria looked so scared and so did the boy beside her, I could tell how angry was becoming, and I didn't want to mess with him but if I didn't he would kill my best friend. Just as he was about to attack Victoria I jumped in front of him, taking the hit instead of Victoria.

"Rosie, is that you?"

"Yeah"

"You know this bloodsucker?"

"She's my friend, Victoria the one who I told you about?"

"Oh, very well sorry for almost attacking you, however I won't be sorry for attacking your friend"

"No stop, he's not what you think he is, but he's different, I promise"

"And how's that"

"Because he's like me, he doesn't want to be a monster"
