Chapter Six

Chapter Six-

When I woke up, I could smell blood. The light in the room was too bright. I squinted my eyes and the people around me laughed. There was more than one laugh. It was like a small gathering. Alder, Victoria, Rose and Elizabeth were all crowded round my bed. I hated to admit but I first looked at Alder and smiled at him. He looked like he did that night we kissed. I looked over at Victoria and wish I never did, her eyes were red and sore, I could tell she was nearly crying yet she wore a smile on her face. So I guess she knew. I wanted to speak to her alone but I don't think I could, I owed her an explanation but I couldn't, not when I seen her broken eyes. She was a fighter this one, she was holding up so much better than her mum did when she realized I wasn't in love with her. Rosie was stood awkwardly in the room holding Victoria's hand an Elizabeth was stood far away from my bed. Alder was the first to speak.

"Blaze, I'm so glad you're awake"

"Seems like everyone is"

"Ladies do you mind if I speak with Blaze alone"

"Yes,Rose and mum go wait outside, I want to hear what's being said"

"Very well"

The door swung shut behind Rosie. I sat myself up and looked at Victoria properly. She looked weaker but stronger in some ways. I never noticed about how beautiful she was. The way she flicks her hair when she talks, the way she stands with her hand on her hip when she's angry. All these things made me regret kissing Alder. Victoria decided she wanted to say whatever she wanted to say first,

"So, you're gay?"

"I don't think so?"

"Well I'm guessing you've never kissed a guy before, have you?"

"Yes Victoria I have but I didn't feel anything towards him"

"So you're in love, well I'm pleased I really am. But can you try to at least be careful of who you fall in love with"

"What's that supposed to mean huh?"

"You turned my best friend into a monster"

"I didn't mean to, I'm new to my werewolf instincts she got to close to me"

"Well that's no excuse I'm a newborn vampire and you don't see me sucking the life out people"

"Victoria, that's enough, say what you want to say and leave"

"Fine, Blaze just remember this, I need you, don't choose him over me"

She left with an even more broke look on her face. I was so confused. How was she being so strong. Alder walked towards me and rested his hand on my own. I smiled at him. I wanted to talk to him ,find out so much about him. This was all going to be for a price. A price I wasn't sure I was willing to loose, Victoria's love. I loved her and cared for her in a way I never noticed before. I wasn't in love with her. I loved her like a sister. I wanted to protect her from everything and everyone, even selfish boys like myself. Throughout all of this I wanted to be with Alder so much. I started crying now and Alder hugged me tightly, rocking me to calm me down.

"Alder, I love you but I can't leave Victoria, I love her like a sister. What do I do?"

"Shh, she'll get over you someday, she won't want to leave you, she said so herself she needs you"

"But she'll hate me for loving you"

"She'll fall in love herself one day"

"So I'm just a crush"

"Yes, but to me I want to be by your side holding your hand, Blaze please say we can make this work"

"I don't know, we could try"
