millie walked around frantically in her bedroom. the date was october 31st, the day of halloween and she needed to get some kind of costume. she kept trying to think of something stupid to wear but her thoughts kept shifting back to her kiss with finn.

that boy truly did the strangest things to her. she didn't really believe in any type of love before she met him. however after awhile of knowing him she knew that she was falling deep for him. millie had a bit of a bad feeling about possibly trying a relationship with finn, as their personal problems could easily tear it apart. but she still wanted to give it a try. she just wanted to be loved for once in her life.

after what seemed like ages of pondering, she finally had a costume idea. she rushed over to her nightstand, pulled open the bottom drawer, and grabbed a plain white bed sheet. she then walked into the bathroom and got a pair of scissors out of the cupboard.

she stabbed the scissors through the sheet and started to cut a small circle. she then made another round spot next to the first circle. millie threw the sheet over her head and looked in the mirror. it was a pretty bad costume but it looked like a ghost.

the brunette girl ripped the sheet off her body and held it under her arm as she ran into the kitchen to grab a paper bag. she was quite relieved when she saw her father knocked out in the chair with a wine bottle in his hand. she knew that he wouldn't wake up until morning and she would have the whole night to spend with finn and jaeden.

"m-m-m-mom! i'm s-s-s-sixteen! why do y-y-you insist on t-t-t-tay-tay-t-taking p-pictures?" the curly haired boy complained as his mother took a few pictures of him in his ghostbusters costume. the middle aged woman laughed.

"when you stop going trick or treating, i'll stop taking pictures." she replied with a devious smirk on her face. it was one of those smiles that was made out of pure evil from the depths of limbo. the smile that a mother gives when she knows she will win the argument.

finn's mother honestly thought her son was a bit too old to go trick or treating. however she loved seeing him so happy. he had to go through a lot of sadness in his life and it made her heart melt everytime he got excited about the night.

the doorbell suddenly rang and finn's face lit up with excitement. he rushed over to the front door and opened it to reveal someone with a sheet over their head.

"do i look scary?" a female voice said from under her homemade ghost costume. finn chuckled lightly.

"y-y-yeah. y-y-you look p-p-pr-pretty good." he replied.

quickly, he walked over to the kitchen counter to grab two containers to keep their treats in. he then walked back to where millie was and handed her one of the small buckets.

"b-b-b-bye mom! w-w-w-we'll b-b-be back l-lay-l-lay-later!" the boy shouted. he stepped outside and closed the door behind him.

there was an uncomfortable silence in the air as the two teenagers walked down the porch steps. both of them could think only about the kiss they shared the day prior.
