Aphrodite and her bestfriend Simon where in a café waiting for Clary, who was auditioning to get in the Brooklyn Academy of Art. Aphrodite was listening to music and impatiently tapping her fingers to the beat of the music growing bored of waiting for her bestfriend.

''Can you stop please", Simon asked her growing tired of her incessant tapping

''Can you go jump off a cliff'', she replied smirking at him. He shook his head and continued looking at the door waiting for Clary. She then walked in with a sad pouty face. Aphrodite saw her sad face and took out her headphones and put her phone up.

''Give me the professors name and I-I will end them'', Simon said while grabbing Clary's hand. Aphrodite looked at him and raised her eyebrows at him giving him that boy no you won't face, then he continued.

''You know with a scathing e-mail to the dean''

''No need'', she said while showing them a paper that had CONGRATULATIONS in big red letters at the top of it.

''Really sad face'', he said playfully glaring at her.

''I'm sorry It's just that I wanted to see what your reaction would be''

''congratulations''

''Yea you know they thought my assigned work was good but they loved my art work for your comic book''

''your welcome'', he said smiling

''Well were celebrating after our gig tonight'' she said smiling at Simon then turned to her black haired bestfriend.

''Yep, Aph you coming'' Clary said using her bestfriends nick name

''Yea sure why not'' she said not really wanting to talk at all. See the thing about Aphrodite she's usually really quiet and mysterious even her presence can intimidate somebody.

''This is the best 18th birthday ever''!

''Well it's the only one your getting so it better be'', Aphrodite stated smiling at her ginger friend.

She laughed at her then turned to Simon ''So, what's going on with you and Maureen''?

''what-no-nothing she doesn't like me that'' he said stuttering badly.

''Simon how can you be so smart and not notice that the person in front of you is in love with you''? Aphrodite chocked on her latte not believing what Clary just said because Simon has been in love with her since the sixth grade and still hasn't noticed.

'' I can assure you that I'm not only the smart person who doesn't know that someone's in love with them'' he said smiling at her adoringly. Aphrodite scoffed having enough with all the mushy stuff so she got up straightened her jacket and hair.

''Well I'm going, see y'all later and Happy Birthday Clary''. She walked out the door and to her apartment to get a snack and get ready for tonight. After she was finished her snack which consisted of a granola bar and a water bottle she got dressed. Her outfit was a black sexy outfit which suited her personality. It was a black dress shirt, black leather pants, black stilettos with spikes on the back heel, a black spikey bracelet , and a black leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders.

(AN//: I know that's a lot of spikes but the outfit was cute so you understand, right?)

She took a cab to Pandemonium where her and her friends were meeting up at. She got to club, walked up to the bouncer and flashed her eyes quickly to let him know who she was. When she got in she went to the bar and order a martini and waited for her friends to call her.

It was after Simon's gig and after Aphrodite had her drink that she met up with the group of friends

''My mother is being so paranoid lately like me turning 18 is gonna change me". Clary said complaining about her mother's recent behavior.

''Remember that alien movie where the alien queen was trying to protect her eggs from Ripley'' Simon asked suddenly.

''So is my mom the Alien queen or Ripley''? Clary asked while raising her eyebrows.

''Both'' Simon said while taking off his shirt causing Clary to look away and Maureen to blush. That caused Aphrodite to roll her eyes disgusted at their actions. Even though her name was Aphrodite she didn't believe in love. Yes she did have on and off relationships with people but they were just flings in Aphrodite's eyes.

''What'' Maureen asked confused.

''A mother trying to protect her young'' he finished while putting on another shirt over his head.

''That was the most stupid thing you've ever said'' Aphrodite exclaimed shaking her head.

''So y'all went on stage as Champaign Enema'' Clary said their band name causing Aph to cringe not liking the name. ''I know stupid right'' Maureen said face palming.

''Yea, but I've thought of new and better one, Rock Solid Panda'' Simon said smiling proudly only to be shut down by Aphrodite. ''That's even worse'', she stated leaning against the van.

''Rock Solid Panda coming up, I'm feeling inspired'', Clary stated while shaking a can of spray paint she got from her mom's boyfriend Luke, who was a deputy.

After she semi-finished painting the van she pulled away to take a break and that's when Aphrodite noticed the Angelic rune used by shadowhunters was on the van. She furrowed her eyebrows not understanding why Clary had drawn that. ''What's that tag''? Simon asked while pointing at it.

''I don't know it's the second time I've drawn that today'', Clary said confusedly.

''Maybe your like those people who wake up and all of a sudden speak French or play the piano'', Maureen stated.

''That's stupid'', Aph said shaking her head.

''I don't know I'll just ask my mom later". She said while backing up causing a blonde guy to bump into her.

''Hey can you watch where your walking'', she asked sassily.

'' You can see me", he said surprised. Aphrodite looked at his runes and finally noticed he was a shadowhunter. She went over to Clary and looked at the boy flashing her eyes at him causing him to back away from them. ''You have the sight''.

''Has that line ever worked for you''? She asked thinking that he was flirting with her.

''How can I not know who you are'' he asked him self. ''Jace'' someone yelled from behind the boy causing him to turn and run off.

Clary shaked and head and scoffed and walked back over to her other friends. ''Can you believe that guy''?

''The imaginary guy you were talking to'', Simon said concerned for his bestfriends sanity.

''What? You don't see the blonde guy running into the club''? She asked looking back at the dude who had disappeared into the crowd.

''Clary there's no one there''. said Maureen said fed up with what she thought was Clary acting.

''Can you two stop making me feel like I'm going crazy''. She then started taking off her jacket and running after the guy causing Aphrodite to run after he friend ignoring Simon calls for them to come back.

''Remember your I.D's suck'' was the last thing Aphrodite heard from Simon before entering the club in search of her bestfriend.
