And ngayon I'll show you what true success is and how can we achieve it.
This is not the only way, but for me it's the better way.
Friends all of us, may kanya kanyang tayong calling, whether to be an accountant, doctor, pastor, etc.
Hindi naman lahat dapat magpastor o magpastora to serve God. Dahil kung lahat ayun ang gagawin, who will build houses? Sinong gagamot sa may sakit?
In everything we do, we can serve him, we can glorify him.
Success is the achievement of an aim or purpose.
Friends dreaming is a good thing, having a certain goal is good. Knowing your purpose is also a good thing.
Para sakin the first step na dapat natin gawin is the "ask, seek, knock" of matthew 7:7-8
"7Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock; and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who ask will receive, and anyone who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to those who knock."
The first step to do is this. If hindi mo pa alam, anong gusto mo or your dreams. Ask is the first thing to do. Ask the Lord to show you your purpose. Then seek for it, hindi to kusang lalapit sayo. Then if you already knew. Ask again and work for it.
I have read a book written by a Pastor Bo Sanchez about "How to live a life of miracle." In his book he emphasize the power of asking and the power of words.
Ang sabi niya, one of the hindrances na pumipigil satin sa success is because we didn't ask.
Many people ask for nothing. And consequently, they end up getting it.
When you ask for nothing, wala kang makukuha.
And why people don't ask?
There were three inner blocks ayon sa book.
First is because we feel shame for who we are.
When Elijah ask Elisha. Next to Moses, Elijah was the greatest old testament prophet.
Elijah ask Elisha: "Ask what I shall do for you before I be taken away from you."
Elisha replied: "I pray that I get a double portion of your spirit."
Woah? What a guts right?
Imagine if Elisha was Filipino. It would have been a different scenario because Pinoy Elisha would have blushed, chuckled and with a wave of his hand replied, "Oh nothing at all. You've given me so much already."
And Elijah would have to cajole him, "Come on, Elisha, tell me. What do you want?"
To which the Pinoy Elisha would reply, "Nothing. Really! Nothing at all."
And then Elijah would press some more, until Elisha would say, "Ok, just give me an itsy-bitsy, little, tiny smudge of your anointing. And I'll be more than happy!"
This is what Pastor Bo call the " Itsy-bitsy spirituality" and it has many devotees. It's very Filipino but it's a universal phenomenon too.
We need to learn to ask.
Many times we don't ask because we think we don't deserve to ask. We think that we're small.
Friends anak tayo ng Diyos. We deserve it. We deserve a good job, family, healing and so forth.
Second one, is that we're afraid of what other's will say.
When we hear prayers like Elisha's it seems selfish. If there people around who heard Elisha asking for a double portion, perhaps some of them would have said "How dare he ask that way? He asked for double. How arrogant! How selfish!"
But Elisha asked for a double portion not so that he would be greater than his teacher. No. He asked so that he could serve more.
So if you're going to ask, might as well ask big, so you can serve more.
Most of us pray for something, and then we stop because we feel that it's a selfish prayer. "It's just for me," we think.
And so we reject the blessing of God that was supposed to be --- not for us --- but to be used as a blessing for many others.
God wants to bless others through you, but He has to bless you first. I'm not exactly pertaining to any earthly things.
The third and the last one. We've got wrong beliefs about God.
1.God is stingy.
Friends God is not stingy. He says that he will give you everything you need. So why not ask for it? He gives you sun, air, water, food. So why are you doubting him? He can give you anything you want, but ofcourse yung mga bagay lang na tama sa landasin niya.
2. The world is cruel, hard and selfish.
Yes indeed it is, but we have God. And pinalaya na niya tayo sa ganitong bagay. In everything we do God is with us. Friends why are you so afraid? So why think that way?
3. A decent person doesn't ask; it's shameful to ask.
Friends the Lord tell us, "Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, so that you will receive, that your joy may be full."
God want us to ask! And when we do, we should expect to get it.
And the Lord himself said, "Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
One more thing, pansin niyo everytime you ask may kasunod na action. Ofcourse even if you ask kung wala kang ginagawa, wala din. Everything has a price. If you want something you have to pay the price. You have to give your best.
Wag kang tamad! Kumilos ka!
If you want to be successful in everything you do, ask, and have your heart committed to it, work, and make it real.
Do not be afraid. You're special, you have God. Friends there are 8000 promises si Lord sa atin. Ilan lang dun ang malaman mo sapat na para malaman mong you can achieve anything you aim to achieve.
You want to do things pero napipigilan ka ng takot. I'm an accountancy student.
Kung ganito ka, why are you afraid? Ang hina naman ng faith mo?
Hindi ba't sinabi ni Lord "I assure you that if you have faith as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this hill, "Go from here to there!" and it will go. You could do anything!
Hindi ba't sinabi ni Lord na in everything you do God is with you, and he will give you success.
Friends wag kayong matakot sa ganitong kaliit na bagay, nothing is imposible to the Lord.
Friends in everything you do give your best, because god made us to do goodworks.
Kung ganon, kawawa ka, you are so shortsighted that you can't see what gift God has given you.
