Trent's POV

Monday. Last week of school before winter break. First day back from the weekend and I thought I'd see Gwen, but she isn't here today. There's an ache in my heart. Thinking about her name just hurts my heart and gut. She still has yet to reply.

In class I noticed Cody giving me a silent hello and smile. He knows that I'm in pain, but we aren't close enough to actually talk about it. I'd talk to Leshawna about it, but we haven't spoken to each other in a while. That's our friendship where we talk constantly then randomly go without a word. She usually comes to me, so maybe I just have to wait.

Speak of the devil, I see Leshawna walking by to a table with three other girls who I usually don't pay any mind to. They're really close with Leshawna, all of them with different personalities but they all get along so well. I blink a couple times and notice Leshawna isn't there anymore.

"Hey suga," Leshawna's voice towers over me just as much as her body. I look up and didn't realize she was right next to me. I smile awkwardly at her. She takes the seat right next to me.

"So Trent, why haven't you talked to me?" She questions and cocks her head slightly, similarly to how Cody did the other night.

"I don't know, why haven't you spoken to me Leshawna?" I ask with a bit more sass than intended, and I can tell that Leshawna is not going to take this too lightly. Her eyes grow wide and her sitting position changes to something a bit more hostile.

"Excuse me? Trent, we sit next to each other in class and you've gone off into this texting spree with Gwen," her voice grows louder. "You no longer text me to hang out, so excuse me for not talking to someone who clearly has no time to talk." She glares at me and I feel the burn of her eyes throughout my body.

She's right, I shouldn't have to wait for her to talk to me. I've abandoned her. But that doesn't stop me. "Have you ever thought that maybe it has to do with this attitude you have going on? You're just so loud and obnoxious," you'd think I'd stop, but I keep going. "Look at how you're acting right now! Maybe I needed a break from you."

Leshawna breathes in and out slowly. I see her closing her eyes. "Imma count to 10, imma count to 10 cause I know damn well I will go in on your little tan ass." I gulp but keep my stance. She stares at me dead in the eyes.

"Trent, I know you didn't invite me over to Gwen's. Just so you could get your little horny self all up in her. She doesn't like you Trent. She's using you. Just like you use me when you're bored and don't have anyone else. I'm done here." She gets up and leaves the cafeteria.

I watch one of her friends follow behind her while I notice heads looking away quickly and going back to their food. I guess this is the drama Cody was talking about that was needed at the school by the way everyone was looking at our little show. I grab my backpack and head out the cafeteria. I head towards my locker and notice there's someone there waiting for me.

Standing there in a black shirt with a white skull, black shorts and black timbs is Duncan. He looks kind of off compared to how he usually is. I'm actually surprised he's here during lunch, he's usually off with his friends.

"Hey dweeb, I need you to come with me." I haven't even got a chance to open my locker, or even stop walking before he began to talk. I sigh and shake my head.

"Duncan I don't need your harassment today. I'm having a pretty shitty say right now." I shiver as I remember Leshawna's dead stare. I regroup myself and open my locker. Duncan continues to stand by my locker and then closes it.

"Dunc-,"he grabs my arm and pulls me towards the entrance of the school. "Hey what the fuck! This is robbery! I am being hijacked! Someone help me!" I pull against him, only for him to tighten his grip and pull me out of the school.
