The Flash speeds through the crowded streets of the city on the island of Manhattan. It has been a few months since he moved here, and he's trying his best to stick to his daily routine. But, today is different. For today, he is following the Bat's orders.
He comes to a stop in front of the Chrysler Building, and starts to look around for the Boom Tube that the Tower’s computer detected only a few moments earlier.
“Dick, I'm here,” he says into his commlink. “But there is nothing here!”
He looks around for anything suspicious. The only minutely dangerous thing he can see is a food cart selling out-of-date hotdogs.
“How about you look up?” Nightwing says, right as the Boom Tube opens nearly two hundred feet above him.
Flash sees what appears to be a person fall out of the Tube. The person makes no attempt to stop his or her rapid decent. He acts quickly and races up the side of the concrete structure. He catches the person, a young woman, and then races back down to the street below. He stops in a dimly lit alley nearly half a block away. He looks over the person in his arms.
She’s beautiful, he thinks.
The young woman has long blonde hair that cascades down her back. She has slightly tanned skin, suggesting that she is from an area in Southeast Asia. Her face is obscured by a dull orange mask, and her body is covered in a dark black spandex-like fabric that is as soft as silk. Her hands are firmly pressed to her chest; holding onto a box-shaped device with all her might. She starts to come to, revealing stormy grey eyes.
Snapping back to his senses, the speedster urgently asks if she is okay.
In return, as she passes out again. The young woman weakly utters a name questioningly as she gives into unconsciousness.
“Wally?” she says weakly.
With that, her body goes limp. She drops the box, but the speedster picks it up and places it in a pocket on his waist. He then quickly races back to the Tower, occasionally glancing at the young woman in his arms with a look of both concern and curiosity. He is curious of the fact that she knew his name--His real name!
When he arrives back at the Tower, he runs into Nightwing while making his way to the infirmary. He pauses and glances at his friend for moment before continuing on to the infirmary. Dick meets him there, and quickly begins to restrain their new “guest”.
“As paranoid as ever,” Flash says jokingly refering to the woman's new “bling”.
“That's just who I am,” Nightwing replies continuing the joking banter. “One can never be too careful.”
He pauses as he takes a sample of the woman's blood, being careful not wake her up. Once finished, he exits the room with Wally in tow.
Dick turns toward his friend, and chuckles, “So how is it that hot women always find a way into your arms?”
“Ha ha,” Wally fake laughs. “Very funny.”
Flash then thinks back on the events of the past few minutes.
“This,” the speedster starts. “Meeting her... It was...different.”
“How so?” Nightwing asks jokingly as he places the blood sample into a scanning device attached to the computer.
“You know how when I found you guys and Linda, and you all didn't remember or even know me? Oh, she had this on her by the way,” the red head says, pulling the box-shaped device out of his pocket.
“Yeah?” Dick replies taking the device and then having his hands make quick work of the keyboard.
“Well,” Wally says nervously. “She knows me.”
