Chapter 2: Right Choice

Klyde's POV

"Class dismissed. Oh and by the way, like what the announcement said earlier, no classes after this because of our meeting. But there are other classes that are still having a class so you cannot go home just yet. Wait till it's 4, understood?", anunsyo ng teacher namin.

"Yes, maam", chorus ng classmates ko habang ako ay nagliligpit na ng gamit. Umalis na ng room ang teacher kaya nagsialisan na rin kami lahat.

Bumuntong hininga ako. There's nothing to do. Dylan and James aren't around so i can't hang out with anyone.

"Si Tristan Klyde!!!"

"Dumaan siya sa harap ko!"

"Girls, i think he just looked at me. Oh i'm gonna faint...."

"No, clearly Tristan loked at me. Stop imagining"

"He obviously looked at me!"

"Are you all insane?  Tristan just looked at me not you!"

Magpantasya kayo jan. Ni isa sa inyo wala akong tinignan. Tsss hate those fangirls. I'm not an idol or whatever so why are they this crazy just by seeing a normal guy?

"Hey Gia..."

Narinig ko ang pamilyar na boses sa di kalayuan. Pero imbes na ang nagsalita ang pagbigyang pansin ay ang pangalang tinawag niya ang nagpalingon sakin! Pagtingin ko ay nakatalikod na silang dalawa.

"Hmmm?"

That angelic voice..... Of course it is. She's fourteen. So young and innocent.

"Nakita mo ba si Francesca?"

Nakita kong umiling siya. Even her simple gesture looked so innocent and full of sweetness. I can't believe myself. I'm crazy!

"Di ko nga kilala eh. Sino ba yan?"

Nanatili akong nakatingin sa kanya hanggang sa nakita kong may tinapon siya sa basurahan. Wait. Coke in can?

Hey I thought her favorite was Orange juices? Nevermind. She liked it anyway so....

Pinanuod ko siyang naglalakad habang kausap niya yung kaibigan niya at ako naman ay umiinom ng Coke in can. Now i'm the one drinking...

I didn't even bother knowing who's that girl. I just kept my attention on Giana. She's just the only girl i like.... No One Else matters.

"Hoy Klyde!!!"

Bumalik ako sa wisyo dahil sa sigaw na yun. I felt relieved when it was just James with Dylan and his girlf- no i mean his fling. This playboy is no good. Why can't he be loyal like me? Tsk tsk. And Giana's not even my girlfriend, but i'm confident that she's mine, i'm hers. Kahit malayong mangyari yan....

Tumayo ako ng maayos at tumingin sa mga puno. I have to act normal around them.

"Akala ko absent kayo. Anong ginagawa niyo dito?", i tried to speak as normal as i could but my eyes keep darting to where Giana is. She's on the school's botanical garden now.

"Limot agad dude? Diba nga nagpaalam pa kaming mag re-reseatch lang kami sa library? Aba't ewan ko sayo... Sa inyo! Sabi ko, mag re-research ng answers sa homework hindi mag search ng babae!", James shouted at Dylan who doesn't seem to mind at all. Nanatili ang kamay niya sa balikat nung babae at ang babae naman eh sayang saya. Tch malandi rin...

"What? We're done anyway", nagkibit balikat si Dylan habang bumuntong hininga lang si James.

"I saw you looking at a girl dude", nasamid naman ako bigla sa iniinom ko nang sinabi yun ni James. What?! He saw me?!!!

"I...was not", tanggi ko kahit di ko maiwasang di tignan si Giana. Nakita naman ni Dylan ang hawak kong Coke in Can.

"Dude is that Coke? I thought you're not allowed to-"

"Hey my doctor told me it's fine as long as it's not much! I.......only drank this day. Matagal na yung UTI ko kaya pwede ba, hayaan mo nako?!"

Ba't parang mabubulgar ang sikreto ko ngayon!?

"Hahaha, chill Klyde. Anyway stop denying it. Hindi mo ko maiisahan dude. Kung si James oo, ako hindi. Alam kong may gusto ka dun sa babaeng yun", sabi ni Dylan tsaka binitawan yung babaeng inaakbayan niya kanina at pinagsabihang magkikita na lang daw mamaya kaya umalis naman.

I'm nervous.... I don't want to tell them cause it's completely dumb and crazy! Imagine me, a 17 year old guy, having a crush on a 14 year old girl who doesn't even seem to know or notice me. Impossible right?

"Dude we understand. Hindi mahirap gustuhin ang babaeng yan. Maganda, maputi, mabait, matalino. She's filthy rich too. Why don't you court her?", nabuhayan naman ako sa sinabi ni James. Pero ang tanong niya, ba't parang out of the place? Right. She's just 14, you jerk!!! May 17 year old ba na nanliligaw sa 14 year old, pa LANG?!!! High blood naman ako dito.

"She's popular all around the school, we know. Marami nang nahumaling sa kanya", sabi naman ni Dylan. Ngayon, kumbinsido na akong may mali sa sinasabi nila.

Popular? I've never heard anyone talked about her. Much more liked her. I made it sure that i'm the only one who likes her anyway. If they like her, i'll make them back off no matter what.

"She's the former campus crush right? But was dethroned by Francesca?", Got it! I knew they were talking about someone else. Napasapo ako sa noo ko. Sinasabi ko na nga ba, yung kaibigan niya ang pinag uusapan nila! Hindi si Giana!

"That Francesca's nice. But something's off with her. I heard she's only looks but no brain and no talent", poor girl. I bet my Giana can beat you. Just look at her grades. She's on the top of her class! She can play a few instruments too and her voice is very charming. My sweet, innocent, Giana is still the best.

"What do you think dude?"

"Giana's the best", wala sa sariling sagot ko habang tinitignan si Giana..

"Who?"

"I thought we're talking about Nathalie?"

What the- Anong pinagsasasabi ko?!

"Sino yan?", kita ko ang ngisi sa mukha ni Dylan.

"Wala. Stop thinking about stupid things, jerk", sabi ko at nilampasan na lang sila.

"Kita na lang tayo sa gym, okay?", sigaw ni James.

"Yung practice wag mong kalimutan dude!", si Dylan.

Tinapon ko ang can sa isang basurahan na nakita ko at nagpasyang kunin na ang sapatos ko sa locker para makapagpalit ng sneakers. May practice nga pala ngayon.....

Pero nang nakita ko si Giana napagpasyahan kong dun na lang ako dadaan sa harap niya, kahit alam kong kailangan pang umikot at maglakad ng malayo papuntang locker room. Still, i know my Choice is Right.
