There were a lot of people at the café today. Just like every other Saturday. I just got an order from an old woman, and on my way back to the kitchen, I spotted a familar guy sitting at a table near the window.
He looked like this guy from a band I liked. Either it was him, or an incredible good lookalike.
,
I quickly checked myself out in the little mirror on the wall, then walked past the other tables and straight to the window.
"Hello" I said and smiled at the perfect shade of blonde-haired boy.
"Hi.. Rose" He smiled back.
He knew my name? What?
"How do you know my name?" It flew out of me.
"Well.. You're wearing a badge with your name on it" He grinned and pointed at my shirt.
"Oh.. Okay, hah! Have you ordered yet?"
He quickly looked down at his menu, then at me again.
"Umm, no."
I waited for him to continue, but we just stared at each other for awkward five seconds.
"Soo..?" I broke the silence.
"So what?"
I chuckled at him. Was he even aware?
"Do you want to order anything? Or did you only came here to sit down?"
A little tease never hurted nobody. *blink*
"Oh, haha.. Coffee, thanks"
"Yea you could use that, looks like you're not fully awake yet." I giggled at him.
"Anything else?" I nearly forgot to say.
"No, thank you."
I nodded and reached out for his menu card, then walked back to the kitchen.
Did I just have a proper conversation with Luke Hemmings himself? I think I did. Or was it his lookalike? No, ahah.. No. His lip ring definitely confirmed it.
I got the coffee, and walked over to Luke's table.
"Here's your co-"
I stumbled over an empty glass on the floor, and dropped the cop on the table. The cop didn't break, luckily, but the coffee got all over the table and on Luke's legs oh mY GOD!
"Ouch!" He almost yelled and stood up immediately.
"Oh my fuck!" I screamed.
"I'm so sorry!"
I started running to the bar, then stopped when someone threw a tea towel at my head. I mentally thanked the person, then ran down to Luke again.
I was not sure whether to give it to him or to use it to the table. I mean, what can he use a tea towel to? It can't dry his jeans!
I threw it at the table, then panicky asked him if he was okay.
"Yea.. I'm okay, don't worry. It was just.. Hot, you know." He let out a nervous laugh.
"Yea, hopefully it is!"
He looked confused at me, kinda like I just had insulted him.
"I mean, nobody wants cold coffee, right? Unless it's a frappé, but that's another thing.."
Shut up, Rose! Shut up! Why do you say such embarrassing things?
"Yea.." He said awkwardly.
"Sorry, I'll make you another one."
Shame had started to take over my body.
"No, no, it's okay. I gotta go now.. But it was nice to meet you, Rose."
"You too, Luke."
I could see his smile getting bigger as I said his name. It was a nice to make him smile, I mean, I just dropped damn hot coffee on him!
"Wait!" I said as he started to walk.
I quickly grapped a pen and a paper from the little pocket on my shirt.
I felt his eyes on me while I wrote down my number.
"Here." I handed him the paper.
"Thanks." He blinked.
He blinked? He just blinked at me? Oh my gosh! Okay, keep cool, Rose, keep cool.
He walked out of the door, and the little bell above the door rang.
I waved and smiled at him, and he did the same back.
Hell yeah.
