After slipping on my dress over my wet body, and Alec doing the same with his clothes, we all stood there. I looked towards Alec confused and a little hurt. "You knew Vinny was my brother from the picture earlier. Why didn't you say anything?"
"I'm sorry little one, it was not my place to tell." He said in reply looking solemn.
"Vinny what the hell!" I yelled at him as he stood there not saying a word. He had grown a lot since the last time that I saw him. I remembered all the times that I needed him and all the times that he wasn't there. Now here he is in the flesh, and all my hurt and anger came forward. I lunged at him before I even realized what I was doing, and I just started whaling on him. Punch after punch until he went down, and I got on top of him continuing to hit him. His nose was gushing with blood, one of his eyes swollen shut, and his lip split, but he didn't once defend himself. I stopped once my mind cleared and I noticed that he wasn't fighting back. I got off of him and put my head in my hands, crying silent tears.
I stayed there for a moment with my head in my hands, just sitting on the damp grass as the night fog started to set in. Familiar arms wrapped themselves around my shoulders and a small kiss to the forehead that my brother always use to do when we were younger finally made me lift my head up. Seeing that it was my brother Vincent, I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my back. We sat there on the ground hugging for what felt like forever until I finally dried up my tears.
I pulled back from him wiping my face and sniffling. Finally getting a good look at him for the first time since the last day I saw him five years ago. Miraculously his face was already healed, the only evidence of my beating was dried blood by where the cuts had previously been. He gave me a weak smile which I returned.
"I know we have a lot to talk about sis, and I just want you to hear me out before you jump to conclusions." Vincent said to me. His voice was a lot deeper than I had remembered and I nodded my head in reply.
"Let's save this conversation until we get you cleaned up and in some warmer clothes." Alec said from behind me. I felt completely embarrassed having forgot that he was there and witnessed my crazy melt down. My cheeks heated as he offered me his hand to get up off of the ground, which I took without hesitation. "I can drop you two off at your place so that you can catch up."
"That's alright. I've got my own ride." Vinny said throwing his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of headlights up the driveway. "Which reminds me. You need to hurry and get back to the house. Your enforcers have found some leads on that problem that we've been having. You're needed back and no one could get in touch with you."
Alec had a small blush overcome his cheeks and he looked at me. "I put my phone on silent so that our first night wouldn't get interrupted. "
I smiled and grabbed his hand in mine which quickly warmed my own cold ones. "You didn't have to do that, but thank you." I stood up on my tippy toes and gave him a small kiss on the cheek which caused him to smile. "Now get on outta here and go do your thing." I said pushing him towards his car.
"I'll make sure that she gets home." Vinny said coming to stand next to me and throwing an arm over my shoulder when Alec made an unsure face.
Alec nodded and got into his car starting it up without another word. He glanced at me through the front windshield before putting it in reverse. I made a phone signal with my hand putting it to my ear and mouthed I'll call you, to which he nodded and turned his head backwards leaving my brother and I alone.
"Well let's get you home before he has my ass." My brother said and started to walk to the headlights that were still on. He must have left his vehicle on. I didn't say a word, and scooped up my red heels following behind him to an old rebuilt blue Chevy.

After I took a quick shower and put some jogging pants and a t-shirt on, I made my way to the living room where I knew my brother would be. It's strange seeing him in my apartment after so many years. This is a place that he's never been and a place where I didn't have to live with the ghost of him and the past.
He was sitting in my sofa just staring at the wall, waiting for me to finish. I sat in my love seat that was adjacent to the sofa.
"Just hear me out and then I'll answer any questions that you might have." He said after a moment of us just staring at each other.
"Fair enough." I said and got comfortable waiting for him to start.
"I'm sure you know about the supernatural part of our world now right?" He asked to start off with to which I nodded. "Well, I'm apart of it." He paused waiting for my reaction, but I didn't give him any. Clearing his throat he continued, "around five years ago I first transitioned into my were leopard. It was hard for me to control. After encountering a few people like me, I learned that in the beginning a lot of them hurt or accidentally killed their loved ones. Since I was new to the whole world, and had not a clue what was going on when I first started I was worried that I would hurt you. I did what I thought was best and left so that I could learn to control myself. It wasn't going so well, and then I came across Alec."
I was sitting quietly with my feet curled up under me, listening to what I knew to be the truth. Although it was hard to take in, because I feel like he didn't trust me enough to help him through everything.
"Alec really helped me learn control. He's my best friend now and I would have ended up going rouge if it wasn't for him." Vinny noticed my confused expression at the word rouge. "Rouge is where a were animal loses all of their human sanity and becomes only animal. There is no going back once that happens. Anyways, I overcame everything and I even met my mate Chelsea. She's Alec's younger sister and we are expecting a baby cub soon. I would love for you to meet her."
I smiled when I could see the love that he has for his mate Chelsea. "I would love to meet her. It is definitely a lot to take in, but I somewhat understand why you did it. I wish you would have come to me sooner." Getting up I sat next to him on the sofa putting my head on his shoulder.
"You'll understand what I went through soon enough Vic." He said.
I looked up at him in confusion, "what do you mean?"
He let out a deep breath. "What I mean, is that you'll be going through your transitioning soon too." I was still confused on his choice of words. "Vic, you're a were leopard too."
