Prologue

Savannah Summers

My eyes drift around the room as the loud music is bumping in my head. My eyes searching for my friends, trying to find them somewhere in the crowd on the dance floor. As soon as I spot a blond haired girl and a tall, dark brown haired guy literally grinding on each other, I know it's Faith and Logan, both way too drunk if you ask me. An annoyed moan escapes my lips as I walk towards them, trying to avoid bumping into the dancing people. My breathing is heavy because of the lack of fresh air and the smell of cigarettes combined with sweat. Oh how much I love to go to clubs. Not.

After a while, which feels like an eternaty, I finally reach the familiar people, also known as my two best friends, still busy with pressing their body onto each other. I roll my eyes as I tap Faith's shoulder.

"Faith!" I yell, trying to drown the loud music, making myself audible.

She looks at me and starts to giggle. "Savannah! Were have you been?"

"Back at the bar, were I told you to stay. Can we please leave? It's 2.32 in the morning already."

"2.32 already?" Logan now asks, his mouth still in a grin, which is pretty annoyinge at the moment.

"Yes! Now. Come. On." I moan as I take their hands and tug them off the dance floor.

Before we could even reach the exit Faith starts to wiggle her hand out of my hold. I frown as I look back at her.

"I need to pee." She then says after a few seconds.

Another moan escapes my lips as I look at Logan, telling him to stay as I take Faith's hand and walk with her into the bathroom. As soon as we reach it, she disappears in one of the cabins. My eyes find the huge mirror on the right, looking at my messy, brown, long hair and exhausted face. I'm really not made for clubs and neither for parties. I don't know why I always let Logan and Faith persuade me to go with them. At the end of the day it always ends up with me having a headache while they're both drunk. Faith probably always a little more than Logan.  All I was craving for right now was a hot shower to get rid of this disgusting smell of alcohol and cigarettes and most of all I need my bed. It was all super exhausting and I'm way too tired already, I really don't want to walk home now, but no money, no cab, so sucks for me.

After a lame attempt to tame my messy hair I give up and quickly put it up into a high ponytail. And then I finally hear the cabine open behind me.

I turn around to face Faith, who places herself next to me to wash her hands. I watch her closely, trying to find out how many drinks she had.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" She asks, fumbling with her hair.

"I don't know." I shrug my shoulders and link my arm with hers. "Let's go."

Faith doesn't reply anything but giggles and we both walk out of the bathroom, back to Logan, who was already waiting next to the exit, just were we left him. He grins as soon as we arrive next to him and before he could say anything I already cut him off.

"Let's goooooo."

He laughs and nods in approvial and we all leave the club. As soon as we go out through the door, the cold air embraces the bare skin on my legs and arms. I shiver for a second before I take a deep breath, thanking god for the fresh air which immediately fills my lungs.

My eyes then drift back to my best friends who are already holding hands, their fingers entwined. A smile forms my lips at the sight of them both.

Logan and Faith are friends since forever, well we all are friends since forever, literally. But they fell in love pretty early but they never got officially together. They still aren't but at the end of the day they always end up holding hands and kissing and everything even though they're not a couple yet. I really don't know the reason why they aren't to be honest.

We all walk down the street, away from the annoying loud sound of the music and I realize how much my head actually hurts though. No one of us says a word and we just enjoy the calming silence of the night. My arm still linked with Faith's and her other hand still holding Logan's.

After a while we finally walk past the park and all I can think of is my comfortable bed which is only a few minutes away from here.

"Should we walk home with you?" Logan asks as he looks at me.

"No, it's okay. There are only a few blocks left to go and we both know I'm more capable of going home on my own than Faith walking all the way to my house and back to yours." I laugh.

He takes a look at Faith, who doesn't even pay attention to our conversation and looks back at me as his lips form a small smile. "You're probably right. So we'll meet tomorrow?"

"I don't know yet, I need to help my mom because my relatives come over to eat dinner with us." I groan in annoyance. "I will call you okay?"

Logan simply nods and pulls me into a warm hug.

"Call me when you're home so I know you're fine and arrived at home."

"I will." I smile as I hug him back.

"Bye S." Faith giggles and waves at me while I watch them walk away.

I simply wave back at her and continue to walk down the street.

There are barely cars on the street only a few cabs standing on the side. It's all quiet and I barely pass any people who are still out. I fumble around with my bag as I take out my phone, scrolling through my notifications. But nothing important happened, my parents didn't even call me yet, neither did my sister.

I sigh as I put the phone back into my bag. Only two more blocks to go.

Right as I pass the last block, I jump a little as I hear something fall to the ground. Followed with a scream.
