Chapter One

Savannah Summers

I feel my heartbeat fasten immediately and I get goose bumps all over my body. I turn on my heels to look down the street of the block I just passe. Only to see nothing but complete darkness, broken by a few lights of the streets. My breath gets heavier as I slowly walk down the road. I try to walk as silent as possible and to catch my breath again while my eyes start to get used to the darkness. Every single sound or move I notice alarms my brain, making it scream to turn around and walk away but my feet won't listen.

But I wish I would've listened as soon as I notice two dark figures in a small alley.

The light of the "BAR" sign which is on the wall of the right building is enough to make my vision clearer and I can notice that one of them suddenly makes a quick move which makes the other person fall to the ground. I know they're two guys as soon as I hear their voices, although I don't understand what they're talking since my mind is too busy with processing what's just happening in front of my eyes.

A few seconds after, the guy on the top punches his fist against the head of the other guy and my eyes grow bigger and I feel like I'm going to throw up any second as I see the blood coming out of the face of the one who was on the ground.

He tries to get out of his grip, but the fist meets his face again. And again. And again.

But suddenly the guy on the top turns around and that was when I notice what I just did. I screamed, telling him to stop. I didn't even realize that I walked towards them, it all happened too fast. My head still hurts from the loud music earlier and it feels like it just got twice that bad.

The guy on top looks at me, his eyes locked with mine, and my heart stops for a second. He was had a perfect shaped face, despite the fact that it is bruised and his lip is bleeding. His hazel eyes look at me in confusion and anger combined and they're too dark to make me see the color of them.

"What the fuck? Who are you?" He spits as he gets off of the guy who was now lying on the ground, not concious anymore.

I swallow as I take a step back. My eyes look down at his hands and his swollen, bruised knuckles. Then I take a glance at the man on the floor and he looks so much older though. His face is streaked with blood and I'm pretty sure his left cheek bone is broken just by the sight of it.

"I fucking asked you a question." The guy in front of me suddenly said in a harsh tone.

"I-I… He needs help!" My voice getting higher with every word that leaves my lips.

Tears fill my eyes as my body moves towards the guy lying on the floor. I've never seen a fight before and if you would've told me that someone could knock someone out in only a few minutes with only using his bare fists, I would've never believed you. It literally happened so fast, I never imagined it to be like that.

But before I can even reach the disgusting bruised body on the floor something pushes me away and I stumble a few steps back, almost losing my balance. A few seconds after, I realize it was the guy who stared into my eyes a few seconds ago. Tears fall down my cheeks as he all of a sudden presses me against the cold wall of the building. My head hits the wall not too soft and I look up into his cold, dark eyes.

"Don't fucking touch him." His voice now deep and slow. "I warn you."

I flinch at his words. My brain still trying to process everything and my breathing is back to being heavy. He just punched the shit out of the guy on the floor and now he got me pressed to the wall. I don't even need to try to get out of his hold because it would be useless. He can do everything to me, he could make me unconcious too or he could rape me. And I could do nothing about it.
