Karlee (Pt. 1)
The iconic song "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, that song played and I was instantly brought back flashbacks, flashbacks of a simpler time. The world just knew me as Karlee Reese, small town girl, color guard member, lover of all things music. Not "The Karlee Reese" performing her "hit single ...".
After high school, I went on my own, music career wise. I was in a band, "The Pretty Reckless", with my two best friend Adalyn & Layla. We practically ruled the school, we played at many people's parties and even played at senior prom as Juniors.
After High school though Ads and Layla had other goals in mind. Ads went off to pursue party planning, and even stayed with the guy she dated in high school, they were the "it couple". Layla went on to study Music Therapy, and helped Ads with her coffee/ music house that I had performed in so many times.
I went on to be a performer. I released a few covers on youtube, including "Don't Stop Believing". I was picked up by a record company, and spent some time in Nashville, New York City, even Chicago. I ventured to Seattle, and found a home there. I wasn't home as much as I'd like to be, my home was the back of a tour bus on a bouncy bed, with little to no room.
I loved singing though. I was always singing when I grew up, and even now I catch myself humming along, or singing no matter if there is no music, or noise at all.
I had traveled just about everywhere, and had fan bases nearly everywhere which was absolutely crazy.
I didn't have much time for anything. In my free time, I went back to Seattle and would visit Ads and Layla, and would just enjoy laying in bed catching up on shows. I couldn't go out much, because I was always bombarded.
I did have sort of a fling everytime I came to town, his name was Joseph, he was tall, was very tan, all year round, he literally is"tall, dark, and handsome". He has piercing blue eyes, and worked at a law firm downtown. We weren't anything but a fling, a fling that had been going on for about 3 years. He was so busy with his hotshot cases, and I was touring, it was kind of perfect.
We met because he was actually my lawyer when I signed with the record company I'm with. Which is Ironic.
He grew up in Seattle, and had a pretty rough past, his mom died when he was 18, right before he was going off to Harvard. He did go, because he felt that's what she would've wanted him to do. He has an amazing apartment, it is near the space needle, and has a gorgeous view of the city. He is kind of extremely rich, but you wouldn't know it by how genuine he is.
I did in-fact enjoy going back to Seattle, I drove for a while to get to Portland to visit Ads and Layla but it was worth it.
