I jumped into my car after doing my makeup and getting dressed. I still had to pick up Connor for dance this morning and I may be running a little late.

"Jayden have you picked up Connor yet?" My mom asked as I picked up my phone while hopping into the car.

"I'm on my way to pick him up right now." I said as picked up the speed.

"You don't want to be late for dance again."

"I know mom, I got to go I'm almost there. Love you."

"Love you too Jayden."

My mom hung up the phone just as I pulled onto to Connor's road. We've been best friends for a long time, always going to dance classes together and now since I turned sixteen, I'm driving us. And I've been late a few times now.

"There you are! You're late!" Connor shouted as he hopped up from where he was sitting in front of his house.

"Sorry." I said as he placed his bag in the back seat and sat next to me in the passenger's.

"It's okay. Come on, we gotta get going though." Connor said as he gave he a quick hug before putting his seatbelt on.

I smiled after he hugged me and started the car up again. My phone started ringing and I rolled my eyes, thinking it was my mom again. I looked over at Connor in a way to tell him to check my phone, he picked it up as I continued driving.

"It's Annie." Connor said as he looked over at me. I smiled.

"Pick it up and put it on speaker." I said.

Connor answered and put it on speaker.

"Jayden!" Annie said cheerily. She's always pretty happy, but we haven't seen each other in a while and we're supposed to meet up later, so I'm sure she's excited.

"Hey Annie! Connor and I are on our way to dance right now."

"Hey Annie." Connor said into the phone.

"Hey Connor. Jayden, you should bring Connor with you the Universal tonight!" Annie suggested happily, like she just thought of it while she was calling.

"I thought it was just you and me tonight?" I said, kind of sad that it wouldn't just be us two catching up after awhile, even thought I do love Connor. As my best friend.

"Oh yeah it was going to be, but Hayden wanted to come along after I was talking about meeting up with you. Not sure why. But since he's coming, you should bring Connor and we could all just hang out." Annie explained. I looked over to Connor and he smirked as he moved the phone closer to him. I rolled my eyes as I pulled up to where we were dancing today.

"Yeah, we'll both be there." Connor answered. Annie squealed and I let out a laugh as I parked the car.

"Okay, Annie I love you but we have to get inside before we are late to another class." I said opening my car door.

"It's always your fault." Connor pointed out. I rolled my eyes at him and smiled. Annie laughed.

"Love you too, see you two later!" Annie said happily before she hung up the phone.

"Come on let's go!" I said pulling Connor from the car door and pulling him into the building.

On our way back to my house to get changed and ready for tonight with Annie and Hayden, we stopped to grab some burgers. Connor got extra fries because he knew that even when I didn't order them, I was still going to eat his anyways.

"So Hayden...have you seen him lately?" Connor asked randomly. I looked up at him and gave him a confused look and he just stared at me, waiting for my answer.

"Umm, no not really. Why, that's so random." I said biting into my burger.

"I don't know. When Annie said he wanted to come after mentioning you were going to be there. Isn't that weird? Like what's up with him." Connor mumbled as he bit his fry. Why does he look so upset?

"Maybe he still likes Annie and he just wants to spend time with her. And Connor, I literally spend all of my time with you, why are you being so weird all of a sudden?"

"I'm not. I was just wondering. Whatever, yeah he probably still likes Annie anyways." He answered as he shrugged.

After we both showered and got changed, we headed back out to the car. We were at my house for a few hours, just hanging out and dancing. Everything was back to normal with us until we got into the car and Annie called again to make sure we were on out way, and that Hayden was asking about us. Mainly me. For some reason Connor looked all annoyed and got tense after she mentioned him, but I knew he wasn't going to talk about so I just didn't say anything.

When we finally got there Connor got out of the car silently, and I wanted to know why he was being so weird all of a sudden. I put my arm around his waist, because I could no longer put my arm around his shoulders like I used to because he's gotten so much taller than me, and stopped him from walking. He smiled a for a minute after I put my arm around him, but he didn't say anything.

"What's wrong? We're meeting up with friends, you should be happy." I said while looking up at him.

"I am, I just - Hayden's changed. The last time I talked to him, he was just really different and I don't really like the idea of you spending a lot of time with him now. Because he's - I don't know Jayden. He doesn't act like the Hayden we used to hang out with." Connor explained as he looked down at me, waiting for my response.

What does he mean Hayden's changed? I mean I probably haven't seen him for almost a year now, but how much could he have changed? And why was this a bad thing? Connor has seen him though, more often then I have and more recent for sure because they hang out with some of the same guys.

"Connor, it's one night. We'll be fine. Maybe he'll be different while he's trying to impress Annie, like when we were younger. And I'm here, so come on let's go. Annie's been texting me for the past ten minutes wondering where we are." I said.

Connor smiled again and chuckled. Aww I love his smile. He put his arm around my shoulders and I kept my arm around his waist as we started walking to where Annie said she and Hayden were waiting.
