Raelynn
My grasp on reality wavered slightly. I just relived things that happened years ago. It's not possible for the elders to just disappear like that. I should be in bed right now. This is all too much. None of this should be happening, is this real?
It has to be. My heart hurts just like it did when my 'Dad' left me. I felt exactly like I did when chased after his car. And meeting Liam... my heart fluttered. I forgot everything I knew about him that I know now. It was like I was actually there, living it again.
Remembering where I am, I snapped out of it quickly. Again, no one is saying anything, and I'm in no place to talk first. But I have questions, "Which one of you is Jim?" I inquired, looking around the room.
The blonde guy from earlier stepped forward, "I am," he crossed his arms across his chest, "I thought Seth warned you about the elders? What were you thinking, talking to them like that. You could've gotten yourself in a lot of trouble. You got off easy, don't expect that again." He scolded me. Scolded.
This is the first conversation I've had with this guy and he's already telling me what to do. He must think I'm actually going to listen to him like a lost puppy. "I hardly think that that was a warning," I turned and give Seth a cold stare.
"What did he see? He was looking for something, a memory. Did he find it?" Jim pushed for answers. God damn this man is demanding.
I stared at him for a while trying to find out what he's asking me. A memory? The memories from my past that I just relived. Did Arlo see those? "He saw those?" I was in disbelief, but I kept my facial expression neutral.
"Yeah, that's Arlos thing. All of the elders have power. In order for them to use the power on someone, they need to touch them, skin on skin, at least once. After that all they need is eye contact for the connection." Another guy started talking. He was leaning with his arms crossed against the refrigerator a few feet away for me. He has brown eyes and dark hair and really sharp pointy nose. He was one of the four guys that went out there to stop lunatic man.
Finally getting some answers about what just happened, I turn towards him, silently ushering for him to continue. "Arlo can search through your memories, see them, live through them like you have in your past. You can't hide anything from him. Vicen screws with your emotions. He can make you feel anything from happy to horny to suicidal. I pissed him off once, you really don't want to be on his bad side," he warned, "and Stephen, he can control you. By his command he can make you do whatever he wants you to. And it's not like the Alpha command where you know what you're doing. It's like he can make you do things unwillingly. If he wanted you to put a gun to your head and pull the trigger, you'd do so happily." He explained calmly.
I let all the information sink in, deciding that I wouldn't talk to them like I did again. Although, I hardly think I was being disrespectful or rude. I definitely don't want someone to control my emotions, or control me. And I don't want someone to look into my head again. That was its own form of torture.
Surprisingly, I only had one question about what he said, "Alpha command?" I said unsure.
Everyone around the room gave me a weird look. Like they were doubting what I was saying. "don't you know anything about werewolves?" Clay asked rudely from behind me.
I thought I did. I spent the whole summer researching stuff about werewolves. I truly thought that there was nothing else to know. And here I am now, looking like it idiot, completely clueless. "Apparently not," I answered.
"I'm the alpha, that means that I am the leader of everyone here. I make the decisions, everything these guys do, and now you too," he raised his eyebrows, eyeing me, "goes through me first. The Alpha command, is the command I have over all of you. If I ask you to do something or tell you to do something, you have to do it. Sometimes you may not want to, but you don't have a choice." He didn't sound like he was bragging about it, he was just informing me.
