The stars aligned for the lovers to meet, blinded by the glamour of their love
As they lost themselves in each other's eyes,
And the warmth of their caresses and those sweet kisses,
Their eyes trained to admire the other's finest details,
From the various shades of blue woven threads of his shirt,
To the sequence on her tresses,
The daydreams of forever afters,
and demands of perfect lives,
The long blissful nights,
The bright happy days,
Burning up together in their love's flames. The stars aligned for the lovers to meet, blinded by the glamour of their love
As they lost themselves in each other's eyes......
Or so they said,
And it was beautiful as it was transient,
And it was shallow as it was pathetic,
Their daydreams of perfect lies,
Of houses of cards and hearts of glass,
Of fairytale desires but a lack of desire to work towards them,
Of materialistic love and ego strokes.
Their eyes trained to notice every fault,
to blame but never want to be blamed,
Their long, angry, lonely nights,
And gloomy, frustrated days,
All those constellations smudged away as they went their separate ways,It wasn't the glamour of their "love" that blinded them,
For infatuation is blind,
And fickle and fragile,
But love on the other hand is all seeing,
All understanding, all stability and all strength.
