IAN P. O. V.

"YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" I yelled I really didn't expect to see her outside the mall today though I'm a bit hopeful. I guess she'll sing again just like yesterday. Lucky Thorn asked me to buy him more books I thought.

"Wag mong sabihin sa akin na siya ang dahilan kung bakit andito tayo?" Tanong ni Mr. Dizon, uncle D for short. His uncle Mark's personal driver uncle Mark ask him to drive for me and Thorn. I envy Thorn though. I got to start studying in Maguire- Smith School a public school for everyone then if they can afford they'll study on the college university my grandparents had built. Though it's so unfair, and hard I really can't blend too well.

"They said you can find a real friend only in public school," I complained to uncle D.

"Yes little boy, you'll find real friends in that school." He answered.

"Why can't I find a "real friend" on private?" I asked.

"You don't go looking for a good friend, be a good friend instead." I told uncle D. That's what I learned from Thorn. I believe on him because I swear no one could understand how much in pain he was.

"Okay baba na ako." Sabi ko kay uncle D at bumaba na ako. Umikot ako dahil ayoko din nmn na may makaalam na isa akong Smith. Popular family makes you popular as well.

"Hey, Ian it nice to see Thorn laughing and smiling. Philippines seemed good for him." Said Uncle D, with a strong Filipino accent. I laughed. His right, Thorn smiling and laughing was something of a big change. I waved good bye to uncle D as he take a turn, he has to go to Maguite- Smith University. Uncle Mark's businesses.

"Why do I have to meet Kian?" I remember Thorn asked uncle Mark last night.

"Well she's our resident photo journalist so she had to take a photo of you for your identification card." Uncle Mark answered. Thorn nodded out of concern like whatever that photo thingy was nothing to bother about. He returned to his old stupor not the one I saw on his room.

His still standing on the edge buttom stair, hands on the rail looking confused or whatever, I can't tell.

"What happened to you?" Uncle Mark asked me as I walked across Thorn, who seemed to completely forgotten me.

"Si Thorn ginulat niya ako." Sagot ko Kay unlce Mark. He looked puzzle.

"Speak in English." Thorn told me. And he put his arm on my shoulder and we walked together to where uncle Mark is.

"Did he, did he now?" Uncle Mark said with a smile as Thorn and I fit ourselves on the couch.

"What do you say?" Thorn asked me, an eyebrow rising. I laughed though I'm still dripping with milk.

"I told him that you startled me and that is why I'm dripping with my milk." I explained. He laughed remembering what happened, I gaped at him and a towel hit me squared in the face. Uncle D. just like me gaped at him, Thorn is laughing like a cute little boy. And that is the first time I saw him too. He stopped and elbowed my arm and dragged me back to my senses.

I pulled the towel and wiped the milk to head. And uncle D sat on the arm of the chair and stared at Thorn.

"Hey shut it!" Thorn said to him with a smile.

"What happened?" Uncle D. Asked Thorn. Ignoring Thorn's rudeness.

"Well I'm sort of half asleep and then weighing something  and then when I reach a conclusion I sort of jump."

"Your what? Half asleep that impossible!" Uncle Mark exclaimed with a laugh.

"How does it became impossible?" I asked uncle Mark. I'm mean anyone can experience that sort of thing.

"It's impossible because it's Thorn." He answered still laughing.

"Hey!" Thorn snapped at him. Though he's laughing as well.

I bumped to somebody and came back to my senses. And stared at her, she was glaring at me and I apologized promptly.

"Sorry di ko sinasadya."

"Okay lang pero wag ka ngang mag daydream nakakasakit ka eh," sabi niya.

"Ahh okay hahaha," I answered scratching my head.

"Sige na, punta ka na doon," sabi niya, sabay nguso sa pinto ng mall. I laughed but stopped immediately because she put her arms on her chest with perfect imitation of Ekang the weird and glared.

"Er ahh sorry, nakanta ka di ba?" Tanong ko sa kanya, kinakamot ko pa din yung ulo ko kahit di naman talaga  makate. She nodded, pero pagalit pa din tingin niya. I guess I better check with uncle Mark if Ekang the weird fell off the building because I swear she's possessing this girl.

"Oo, bakit?" Sabi niya lumiit yung mata niya naparabang isa akong suspicious na Tao.

"Pwede ba tayong kumanta pareho?  Parang duet."

"Getoff!" Sigaw ko.

"Wow English nose bleed," sabi niya. "Sige na maghanda ka na."

"Ano pala kakantahin natin?" Tanong ko.

"Meron ba, by Barbie Forteza." Sagot niya na sure na sure.

"Favorite song mo?"
