They say time heal wounds
But to me time caused pain
If it had stayed I would be the same
And if I had a chance to pause/kill time
I would do it all the same"Left" Yemi called out, he seemed cautious and calm waiting for her every move, directing her and telling her his own moves for she was still learning, the ways of the sword, he had been teaching her from the time she could walk, until she was ready. "Left" he called out again, simultaneously the contract of two wooden swords singing as they kissed one another, "left, up, lower" he sang out, Busola kept up and was in her world of choreography, the sword her partner, the clash her melody.
"Ah" she cried out "not fair" pain whooshing through her body whole.
"You said left" she complained "I blocked left""I know what I said" he replied, "if it were to be real they wouldn't tell you where they would strike, you see before you think, do not think before you see"
Although Yemi looked as old as her grandfather should be, he was as fast as a rat and sly as would a snake, slithering the wooden stick as if it were an attachment of his hands, he smiled as he gave a final lunge at his niece, graciously she parried the attack and sidestepped out of the danger of another well stung pain."Try again" she said, Laughing, "the old man thinks he's as fast as he once was"
"Well done my child, you do me proud, and your father would have also been proud" his face filled with sweat as he wiped it away with a clean rag, his eyes seemed narrow as if he were about to sleep, but do not be fooled, he saw everything, he might have let her win but In a serious fight she won't see his shadow
"Come little one" she followed him towards the wall " I have something to show you, something of your father's"
Upon getting to the wall Yemi asked her almost a whisper, a questioning gaze and a hidden smile "what do you see child".
"I see a crack" she replied "the crack is too straight to be from a natural cause" she stated, noticing it as she was talking.
"To see then to think, well done" busola stared for a while, why haven't she seen this before, the smile on Yemi had began to show, right beneath the crack was a hidden lever, hidden to the uncaring eye, pulling the lever the ground began to shake and the wall began to move, Yemi was all smiles by now as he rubbed on her beautiful black hair, a reward well deserved."How come You've never showed me this old man?" She asked, questions seemed to be the highlight of the day.
"You weren't ready, you still are not, but unfortunately time is not on our side child" he said, giving out a breathed sigh as he walked ahead between the separated wall giving no sign to follow but she followed nonetheless as both uncle and niece were swallowed by the darkness.
Asral
The day was cold as the sun had kissed the ice, snow fell and the room felt cold, Asral sat on the floor five days no food, they had come for him on the fifth day, locked up for the outburst on his father, he had tried to kill the king.
His father, the king sat on the high table as the guards released him in the great Hall, a plump ugly woman who had lost her eyes a long time ago, eyes not needed, a seer, who was all seeing, maybe, maybe not, she sees what the gods let her and she says little for man's mind is brittle and soft, she was by the King's right and the Queen, the ever so lovely Queen by the right, the king's left, coats so thick you'd think she was fat, but only a fool would say that, she was slick and slim even after giving birth to 5 ugly children, Asral excluded.
A feast was been held, the smell of heated meat, roasted pigs and goats, stew of onions carrots and cabbages, men screaming, singing songs of praises, drinking sweet Mead, but asral wasn't in the need to eat, not for the past five days, not anytime soon.
