Harry x reader|| congratulations part 1

It was a few years after Hogwarts, and Harry Potter got a busy job as an Aurora, he lived with his wonderful wife y/n Potter, who helped him look after young Teddy. Despite this, harry was still not satisfied.

Y/n Potter was once y/n Weasley, she was gorgeous she had sparkling e/c eyes full of wonder, she proudly wore the famous Weasley red main, and she had freckles that were scattered along her face like constellation.
Other people fought for her hand, she was easily loved my so many, but she only wanted him, she only wanted the boy who lived.

It was a stupid mistake, he knew to spend those nights with Cho Chang. Even after late nights home y/n still trusted him and never lost her temper, even though Harry knew she had every right not to.
Potter got himself stuck in the mud, when cho's muggle husband found out. The muggle sent a letter of this gossip to Reeta Skeeter, who found it was definitely worth reporting.

One picture and an article is all it took for Harry's world to crumble.

Alone and sorry Harry sat in his living room, when he heard a knock at the door. Sluggishly Harry got up to open it and straightened up when he was Ginny.

"Ginny" Harry smiled
"Harry" Ginny smiled back, but then it faded as soon as she barged herself into his house.
She slammed a news paper on a near by table which made Harry jump.
"Congratulations" Ginny laughed sarcastically which sent shivers down Potters spine. "You have invented a new kind of stupid.
A 'damage you can never undo' kind of stupid.
An 'open all the cages in the zoo' kind of stupid.
'Truly, you didn't think this through?' kind of stupid" she frowned at the man she thought she once loved, the man she gave up so her sister could be happy but all she got was pain.
Harry was about to reply when Ginny held up a finger to silence him.

"Let's review, you had a job, a wife, a child, and a reputation and refuted it by sleeping with someone who doesn't even care about you! I begged you to take a break, you refused to!" Ginny referred to the invitation him and family got to the burrow, to get them away from their manic lives.
"Harry, don't you see,  you're so scared of what your enemies will do to you, but you're the only enemy you ever seem to lose to" Ginny could feel a lump in her throat, tears were daring to spill but she helped them back, she had to stay strong for her only sister, for y/n.

"Ginny" Harry started it was the only response he could give
"You've redefined your legacy. Congratulations" she chuckled
"I'm the boy who lived Ginny, after all that adventure I can't settle, I will never be satisfied!" Harry yelled
"We're not the kids we once were. You're no longer a boy, harry you're a grown man! Start acting like it! I can't believe I look at you and think 'God, what have we done with our lives and what did it get us?' That doesn't wipe the tears or the years away, and you know what I'm here to do?" It was too late, Ginny began to yell as tears rolled down her cheeks, she left her wand back home, she knew it was the sensible choice since Harry would have been badly hurt by now if she didn't.

"Ginny" Harry reached out his hand in hopes that the girl he once knew could see in him the boy he once was instead of the mistake he made.
"I'm not here for you" she shook her head "I know my sister like I know my own mind, you will never find anyone as trusting or as kind. And a million years ago she said to me 'this one's mine'. So I stood by, do you know why?
I love my sister more than anything in this life.
I will choose her happiness over mine every time! Y/n" Ginny ranted

"Y/n" Harry whispered remembering how it felt the first time he said it, remembering how it sat in his mouth like it was templates so perfectly.

"Y/n is the best thing in our lives. So never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best wife. Congratulations!  For the rest of your life. Every sacrifice you make is for my sister, give her the best life!" Ginny ordered knowing what y/n deserved.
Ginny walked back to the door and left his house before saying "congratulations" and slamming the door behind her, leaving Harry defenceless. He made a mistake, he knew he could never deserve you.
