"Why did you shoot?" Dawn screamed at Bellamy when the group reached the cover of the trees.

The young warrior grabbed Bellamy and pinned him against a tree.

"Why would you bring guns to a meeting meant to bring peace to your people?" She demanded again.

"Because they brought weapons as well," he answered, making no attempt to free himself.

"Only they didn't use them first. Anya, was going to make peace with your people. Because of what you did, she will show no mercy. Every last one of your people will be killed," Dawn screamed at him.

"It doesn't matter who is to blame for this now. It happened, and we have to deal with the consequences," Lincoln stated as he walked to stand beside Dawn. "He's not worth it, Dawn. You did everything you could."

"Everything I could was not enough!" She screamed in response and collapsed.

Lincoln caught her just before she hit the ground.

"It wasn't enough to save my mother and my father, it wasn't enough to protect my brother, and it wasn't enough to save their people. Why is it never enough?"

"Ge smak daun, gyon op nodotaim," (Get smacked down, get back up again.) Lincoln whispered to her.

"No matter what I do, it's never enough."

"She's coming with us."

Bellamy had seized the moment and placed his gun at Lincoln's head.

"Bell, what the hell are you doing?" Octavia yelled at her older brother.

"Whatever it takes to save our people. You can go Lincoln, but I still need her."

"Just let me go, Lincoln. I am not worth the fight, let alone your life," Dawn whispered to her friend.

"If I give her to you, can you promise she'll be save among your people?"

"I can promise that I'll protect her," Bellamy answered.

"What if you're the one she needs protecting from?"

Dawn stood up and pushed herself between Lincoln and Bellamy's gun.

"Go, Lincoln. If he wanted me dead, he'd have shot me by now."

"Dawn..."

"Go now. Tell my people what happened here today. Tell them not to fight."

Lincoln looked at his friend one long last time and then disappeared into the forest once more.

Dawn didn't move until Lincoln was out of sight. She had met Bellamy's gaze meanwhile.

"Even I cannot help you now," she said before turning to head for the Skaikru camp.

When she arrived at the gate, Dawn was met by the gun barrels of several guards.

"Tie her up," Bellamy commanded and entered the camp.

---

Dawn was left alone with a single guard, other than Miller, in her old prison. She was tied to the wall with little room to move. No one came to see her that night, although there was some commotion in the level below in the midst of night.

When the hatch opened again the next morning, the guard untied Dawn at Clarke's command and Dawn was asked to join Clarke in the lower level.

"This is where we keep our sick. Lincoln told me that you have experience as a healer. I figured this may be a better use for your time than being tied up."
