"Nate, please! I need to speak to Octavia!" Dawn begged as she knelled before the guard.
Bellamy hadn't returned to visit her in almost two days. The time for words had passed.
"I can't help you, Dawn."
"Nate, they will kill you all long before your reinforcements get here, and when they do, they'll kill them, too. Do you have any family left on the Ark?"
He didn't say a word, but his eyes answered for him.
"They'll be dead as soon as they open the door."
"And what happens when I let you speak to Octavia? Everyone knows she helped Lincoln escape. What are you going to tell her? You'll send her to warn your people. I can't let that happen."
"My people will kill you all, Nate. Every last one of you. I know that you do not want war. Let me help you prevent one."
"Two minutes. That's all I can give you," he muttered.
"Two minutes are more than enough."
The young guard turned to leave and search for Octavia.
"You're doing the right thing, Miller. For your people and for mine."
"I hope you're right. If you're wrong, we'll both be dead."
"Some of you will die regardless whether there's peace or not," Dawn muttered to herself after Nate had closed the hatch behind himself. "Jus drein jus daun."
Miller returned with Octavia following close behind.
"Find Lincoln. Tell him to ask Anya to meet Clarke. I've seen her. Clarke wants peace. If anyone can convince Anya to make peace, it's her. Go and be quick."
"How will I find him again?"
"You'll know when you start looking for him."
Octavia nodded and disappeared through the hatch.
"Thank you," Dawn said to Nate as he resumed his position as her guard. "Say do you ever get sick of being stuck in this metal cage?"
"Not if it keeps me alive," he answered.
"What if you don't deserve to live?"
"Everyone deserves a second chance."
"From what I've seen, you're people don't believe that."

"Anything you want to say, Dawn?"
"What do you want from me? What are you going to do to my people?"
"What makes you think I want something."
"You're a selfish coward, Bellamy Blake. You wouldn't be here if you didn't need something from me."
"Actually, I'm here because Clarke asked for you. She wants you to teach her about the medicines here, I guess. I told her you'd come and you'd be of help to her. Otherwise, she has permission to shoot you. What use is a prisoner that doesn't talk?"
The young warrior scoffed.
"Fair enough. I'll go, but you should untie me first. Unless you're scared of course."
"I'm not scared," he stated.
"Prove it."
Bellamy reached for a knife and pointed it at his prisoner.
"I don't want to kill you, Dawn. Don't make me a murderer."
"From what I know, you already are one."
