The sun shone brilliantly through the paned windows, illuminating the dormitory, waking Hazel immediately, considering she was a frightfully light sleeper.

Henceforth, she woke up just as the sun had risen, the rays peeking out from the Scottish mountains on the horizon. Ripples of water from the nearby Loche were highlighted, glinting and sparkling as it reflected the stunning light.

Curious to see the view from the window, she passed the other girl's beds, whom she'd met briefly, all seeming to be pleasant enough. Her dormitory was situated on the first floor, one of the only Slytherin dorms to actually be above ground.

She had thought the view was magnificent, much better than the plain London streets back home.

Seeing as she was up earlier than anyone, she headed to the bathroom, to take a warm relaxing bath to calm her 'first day nerves'. After which, she quickly dressed up into her robes, but not without admiring her uniform first. The green trim looked elegant, making the whole outfit less plain and dreary. She then headed for the common room, of which she was still confused to if she actually liked it or not. The room was indeed rather odd.

A shadow loomed over the staircase, quickly moving across the stone wall as the boy, who she knew to be Draco, paced across the long room repeatedly, clearly lost in his thoughts.

She watched for a while, hidden well behind the archway, perched on the last step, meaning she was just out of the viewpoint of Malfoy.

Not obssessed... just observent, she thought, convincing herself that she wasn't a creepy stalker.

For a few minutes she watched him, how puzzled his face looked. Something must of happened for him to delve this deep into his thoughts.

"Draco?" Hazel called, pretending to have just come down the steps, emerging from behind the archway. She almost laughed at his shocked reaction, jumping out of his skin.

"Oh, uh, Hazel," he said, falling back onto the cushioned sofa, sighing deeply. "What are you doing up so early?"

"Dreadfully light sleeper. You?"

"I just-" he paused for a moment, as if he actually had to think what it was he was doing, "couldn't sleep, I suppose."

Hazel perched on the end of the sofa, the furthest away from Draco. "Um, what classes do you have today?" She asked, breaking the awkwardness.

"I won't know until breakfast, that is when we get given our timetables," he replied blandly, still staring at the open flame.

"Oh, I see."

Considering Draco was putting zero effort into the conversation, she gave up, but not without sighing pointedly.

"Speaking of breakfast, I reckon we could sneak into the dining hall and call first dibs?" Draco offered, flashing Hazel a classic, mischevious smirk. She grinned in response, coffee sounds great right about now.
