Dan Howell x Reader

Fish & Chips

Y/N's POV
I open the door and see Dan and Phil already sitting down at a booth. Perfect. Booths are a really good spot. Phil looks up from his phone and waves for me to come. Dan also looks up and sits up a bit more. I walk up to the booth and sit across from them. I had a whole space to myself. This afternoon is turning out great! "Hey, Dan! Hey Phil!" I said. "Hi!" Phil says while reading the menu. "Sup," Dan said, still scrolling on his phone. I look down at the menu and see more options then I expected. After a couple minutes of silences the waiter comes by and ask us what we'd like to drink, "Coca-Cola would be fine." I replied. Dan looks up and says, "Same here." "I'll take a lemonade!" Phil said and put the menu down. After the waiter leaves Phil sparks up a conversation, "So Y/N. What're your hobbies?" I think for a brief moment and say, "Does watch anime and playing video games continue as hobbies? I don't play video games that much anymore though, but every now and then is good." Phil elbows Dan. "Did you say anime? Which one are you currently watching?" Dan said, sounding a bit more excited. "Currently 'Free!' And 'Food Wars'." Dan responds, "Free is a really good one, Haru is so mysterious and quiet which makes him interesting." "Nagisa is my favorite. He's just so adorable and cuddly!" I said. Phil sits back and just watches us talk. I feel kinda bad for not including him but he seems like he doesn't wanna be apart of the conversation.

Dan's POV
Me and Y/N continue to talk more about Free! Until the waiter brings our drinks. "We should all take a picture," I said. Y/N smiles, "Sure!" And Phil nods. I put my phone at myspace angle and Y\N gets into the frame and does a peace sign. After we take a few pictures she sighs heavily, "God, I think I might die if I take a picture myspace angle and peace signs again." She rests her head on the table and Phil laughs, "Same. Nostalgia is running thru my brain." I laugh as well, "I did it for the cringe, you're welcome." Y/N laughs and I laugh with her. She grabs her phone and says, "Send one of the pictures to me, I wanna see how it turned out." She puts her phone on the table and drinks her Coca-Cola. I shrug my shoulders and go to my messages to send her some of the pictures.

Y/N's POV
Dan sends me the selfie we all took on his phone and my phone goes off on the table. Dan looks down and sees my lock screen where the notification is of his message. "Mr.Hobbit Hair?" I blush and snatch my phone off the table and clear my notifications in panic. I panic even more scared to look up and than hear a laugh. I look up and see Dan laughing and smiling.I noticed for the first time that he had dimples, which made him even more adorable. I blush and respond by laughing as well. I'm pretty sure he didn't see the heart near his name so today's my lucky day. I wait till Dan and myself stop laughing and say, "Phil told me that's your nickname." Dan's cheeks turn pink and he looks at Phil startled. Phil continues to drink his lemonade and says, "She needed a nickname since you decided to put a boring name." Dan defends himself, still blushing, "What was I suppose to put it as? At the time she barely knew any inside jokes of ours!" Phil snaps back,"Well now she can!" Dan leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. I look at Phil who shrugs his shoulders and I look back at Dan who is completely flustered and Phil stands up, "I gotta use the restroom. Be right back." Phil walks away and leaves me and Dan alone. Quite awkward since I never had a conversation alone with him.He bites his lips, sits up and asks, "Did you look us up yet? On Youtube I mean."  I take a sip of my coca cola, "Kinda, I looked you guys on Instagram and Twitter. You guys sure got a big fanbase." Dan raises both his eyebrows and then looks down, "Yeah..." This is probably awkward for him. "What kinda genre is your guy's videos?" Dan looks up and seems more interested in the conversation, "We do all kinds, Gaming, Crafts, Baking. We both mostly do vlogging about our lives like silly stories that happened to us or just a random topic." I add a bit more energy to the talk, "Cool! What kinda topics do you talk about?" Dan laughs, "Ha, I uh- well I have this series called, "Internet Support Group" where people send me their problems and I attempt to solve it." I smirk and say, "That seems interesting."  Dan continues to talk about Youtube for a little bit, But I don't mind. He makes a witty joke about one of his videos which makes us both laugh. I continue to chuckle and I hear Phil say, "I'm back! What'd I miss?" I smile at Phil and respond, "Dan was telling me more about your guys career! It sounds quite fun and interesting!" Phil sits down next to me, "It is! I love it so much!" I smile again at Phil and look back at Dan who slightly looks uncomfortable. He realizes that I'm looking at him and he covers it by saying, "Yeah, it's really fun and just overall great"

** Time Skip **

Y/N's POV
We finish eating our fish and chips and split the check. After that we start heading out to get in time for the ice rink. We walk out and wait on the side of the street for a cab to come by. After a couple of minutes of waiting, a guy walks by us and shoves me with his shoulders to move, which causes me to trip over my feet and fall onto the curb. There wasn't any traffic so I was fine but my leggings were soaked at the knees from the puddle that I landed in and I got a small scab on the side of my right hand. I sighed and muttered, "And I thought today was my lucky day." "You okay Y/N?" I heard Phil say and I saw a hand in my periphery. I look up and see Dan standing there. I turn pink slightly and grab his hand to help hoist myself back on my feet. Dan looks away, still holding my hand for a moment and looks at the small scab. He touches it slightly and says, "Sorry about that..." and pulls his hand away back into his pocket. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at Phil who shrugged his shoulders at me. We decided to walk instead.
