Dan Howell x Reader

Ice Skating

Y/N's POV
I tie my skates on and stand up. This is my 2nd time ice skating and the last time was over 3 years ago. I put my arms out for balance and feel my knees shake. I take one step and lose balance. Before I can catch myself, Dan quickly stands up and catches both my hands. I sigh in relief, "Thanks." and we both let go of our grip. Phil gets his skates on and we start wobbling our way to the ice rink before one of us snap our ankle, Luckly that didn't happen. We all get on the ice one by one. Phil is in front while I'm in the middle and Dan is in the back. I continue to clasp onto the bars that were on the side of the ice and walk around the rink once just so I could get a feel for what it was like. Dan and Phil seemed to be getting the hang of it and were going at a slow but fast rate. I started to get a little cocky and let go of the bars. Big mistake. As soon as I got 2 feet away from where I was earlier my skate got caught on snow and I fell face forward. I lyed there on the cold ice for a good minute hoping it would give me frostbite.

Dan's POV 
Phil and I skated around the rink about 2 times and we see Y/N face-planted on the ice. Phil looks at me and says,"Should we help her?" I rub my neck, thinking. "We should, This seems like her first-time ice skating or at least she hasn't done it in awhile." We skate up to her and she lifts her head up. Her arms are holding her up and her knees are on the ice, which causes her knees on her leggings to get more wet stains. She looks up at us and laughs, "Sorry, it's just been awhile!" Phil smiles, "It's fine, we can just teach you how. Right, Dan?" I look at Phil and back at Y/N, "Uhh yeah, Yeah, we can teach you Y/N." I bend down and put both my hands out to help Y/N up. She looks up at me and grabs both my hands. I pull her up and she lands on her feet, I continue to hold her hand so she can remain balanced. I let go of one of her hands and move to the same side where I was still holding her hand. "Here. All you do is basically walk but without picking your feet up. Atleast that's how I do it, like this." I start to skate slowly and pull Y/N with me.

Y/N's POV
Dan pulls me with him while he skates slowly, we go around the rink once and Dan lets go of my hand. He smiles at me,"See? Easy. Let's see you try." Phil whispers in Dan's ear and Dan looks at him, then at me, then back at Phil. Dan shrugs his shoulders and they skate away. They stop around 4 meters away from me. Phil puts his hands around his mouth and yells,"Try to skate all the way to us!" I nervously bite my lip and inch my way towards them. I put my arms out to keep balance and try to not hit anyone with me flailing my arms each time I almost lost balance. I start to get the hang of it and speed my pace up. I rest my arms to the side of me and get closer and closer to Dan and Phil. I decide to speed up more and immediately regret because I lose balance. I almost fall and then I feel an arm wrap around my back and another tightly gripping my hand. I regain balance and look up to see Dan breathing a bit heavily and look me directly in the eyes. We keep looking into each other eyes and I feel my face turn hot. Dan's grip on my hands get's tighter and his arm wrap more tightly around me. "You did really good Y/N!" I heard Phil's voice come from afar. Dan snaps back into reality and losings his grip. He let's go and turns to Phil, "She did better than I did when I first ice skated, I kept falling on my ass like an idiot." I giggle at his comment and Phil rolls his eyes.

Dan's POV
Phil rolls his eyes at me because of my joke but Y/N laughs. I continue to breath heavily and check my phone. 4:42pm. We've been here for about an hour, "We should get going before it gets more crowded." Phil and Y/N nod in agreement and we start heading towards the sitting area and Y/N falls behind, trying to not fall. I stop and Phil goes ahead. I go at the same pace as Y/N, having a small chat and helping her to the sitting area.

Sorry for the small chapter, I've been procrastinating like an idiot and have been trying to have each fanfiction 2 chapters ahead of the newest update. As you can see, it's not really working well...BUT NEXT CHAPTER WILL BE GOOD! PROMISE! ALSO HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY!
