This chapter is dedicated to Maryam Abubakar and her bosom friend Fateema Abdulaziz who kept on encouraging me to write more. Thanks sisters. Lots of love♥️♥️♥️
Let's move on...
I woke up to a soft voice calling on me. I found myself on a sickbed and a doctor before me. My head was hurting tremendously as if there was a fire outbreak in it.
"Please lie down, you need more rest." The doctor advised as I was trying to sit up. He excused himself and went out. After a while, he came back with some people whom I recognized to be my Principal, my roommates and some other school staffs."Alhamdulillah" my friend squirreled upon seeing my health condition. Their eyes were so red and they looked indisposed. They gave me a warm hug almost touching my wound which was wrapped with a bandage.
But trust me, I fully noticed that Jidda was not worried at all. It then dawned on me that Sadiya was missing among my roomies."Where is Sadiya." I enquired with a lot of concern.
"Zarah keep calm, you need to rest a little bit more okay?" Aisha said, entwining her hand in mine. I nodded in affirmation and laid back on the bed with millions of questions on my mind."Zarah is okay, tell the cops." Our Principal said to her Vice which made another question pop out of my mind 'why are the cops involved in my case?"
They all scrolled out, leaving me alone with a nurse to rest and that was when my mom came to my mind. I pleaded with the nurse to call the vice principal for me, which she kindly did.
"Please sir do not inform my mother about what happened to me, she will get worried." I pleaded with the Vice Principal.
"Okay I'll try, just get well soon."
"In Shaa Allah." I let out a sigh of relieve.
"My mom will get worried and getting the money to travel here is another battle."⭐️⭐️⭐️
After being hospitalized for a week, my wound healed and was discharged. I was actually relieved of the boredom of the place.
I was surprised for neither Malik sir nor Swabir came to check up on me, after the promise Malik sir made.I came to realize what happened to Sadiya, she biffed Dinah so hard that she even fainted, just because of me. That was what involved the cops. She was punished and Dinah was suspended for two weeks for being the main curse of the conflict.
It was only one week to our exams when I was discharged, I planned to spend more time in the library than usually in other to pass my exams.
'I vow to make the person that sponsored me and my momma proud.'⭐️⭐️⭐️
After the revision class we had on Monday, I headed to the library while Hanan headed to the dorm to do some other thing. The library was as quiet as a graveyard with few students. After studying for two hours, I stood up to leave when I noticed I was alone in the big library. I hurried in returning the books I read to the shelves where I picked and sauntered out. The library was a little far from my dorm.
"whoa!" I exclaimed upon seeing the dark sky outside. It was late evening already, I started walking to my dorm in a haste.
The wind blew heavily which got me scared and I started running. I felt the wind drawing me back as I ran but still kept running. The wind was accompanied dust and sand in it which made my vision blurry.
It even reached to an extend where I could no longer see anything. I could taste the dust in my mouth and also in my nose but got no time to sneeze it out. I was tremendously terrified.'Why are all these happening to me' I thought, 'I need help. Ya Allah help me.'
"Angel get in." a voice from nowhere said before I felt the owner of the voice dragging me and later got me in a car. At first I thought he was kidnapping me which made me fought him, but later understood he came to my rescue. I opened my eyes and blurily saw Malik Sir who gave water to gulp down.
