When we arrived at the lake, I got set up, and so did Dan. We fished for about an hour, only talking when we think we have a catch. Then I put down my rod. Dan followed. I walked into an older cabin that looked homely and cozy. "You can't just walk into a house!" said Dan. "This is my aunt's house. " I said. I walked to a corner and grabbed an acoustic guitar. I strummed a few notes to check the tune, then brought it outside. "What are we doing?" asked Dan. "You'll see. Come site here next to me." I said as I sat down on some flat rocks. I started playing the cords to Sitting on the Dock of the Bay by Sara Bareilles... Hannah's favorite artist. She plays her songs all the time so I know all the words. "Sitting on the dock of the bay." I sung. "Watching the tide roll away." Then I stopped. A small crowd of fishers; men, women, girls, and boys, had formed around us. Then I decided to switch songs. "My love, my love is on his way." I sung, playing new cords to the song... My Love. "I can't wait to see the day." I sung. I didn't feel that was the right song. Now I felt like I need to preform a good song.... I got it! I thought to myself. "Since there is a crowd, I'd like to preform one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists... King of Anything by Sara Bareilles!" Then I strummed a bit to tune the guitar. And I played the first cords of the song. "Keep drinking coffee, stare me down across the table, while I look outside." I sung. "So many things I'd say if only I were able." then I got into it. I played and sung. Then I got to my favorite part; the chorus, "Who cares if you disagree? You are not me, Who made you king of anything? So you dare tell me who to be, who died and made you king of anything." Then I sung the rest if the song. The crowd applauded, and I think I made about maybe 40£, maybe more. The crowd slowly dissolved, and I turned to Dan. I looked him in the eye... and he kissed me. We kissed on the rocks for a while, and I broke away for air. My face must have been priceless because Dan fell off the rocks into the water laughing. I could already see this relationship working... but what would mum say?
