Katsumi watched Eliza jump from the balcony, and onto the ground in front of him. He took a few steps back. Eliza swung her sword from hand to hand, her eyes blazing. Katsumi could practically feel the rage coursing through her, he didn't know why the rage was there.
He adjusted Makoto in his arms, who was quietly watching, wondering just how much he didn't know about Katsumi. "Why?" Katsumi simply asked, nodding to the sword. "Because." Eliza responded, "It's my job to take out any liability." Katsumi was slightly offended by this statement. Eliza could tell by the way his feathers ruffled. "Since when was I a "Liability"?" Katsumi asked, his tone sharp. "Since you took Ishikawa under your wing, literally." Eliza glared at Makoto, who tensed under her icy gaze. "So now I have to kill him, and if you get in my way, I'll kill you too." She said. Katsumi shook his head. "You won't lay a paw on him, Elizabeth." He said. "We'll see about that." Eliza snapped. "Catch me if you can." Katsumi taunted. He then looked down at Makoto. "Hold on, tightly." He said. Katsumi spread out his wings after saying this, and with one fluid motion, he lifted himself off the ground and hovered.
"Fuck you and your flight." Eliza huffed. If she was to be honest, she had thought that Katsumi's wing had still been to hurt to allow him to fly, and taunt her like he was now. Turns out she was wrong. She glared up at him, holding the currently unneeded sword in one hand. She would just need to take out his wings, and he would fall. Simple enough. She extended her hand in front of her, and a shard of ice grew into existence in her hand.
Katsumi's eyes narrowed as he realized his situation wasn't good. He'd be slower with Makoto in his arms, meaning Eliza could easily shoot one of her ice shards through his wing, but there was no way he was putting him down. This wasn't good. He sighed, calming himself. Every beat of his wings hurt like hell, pain shot through every nerve, but he ignored it, he knew he'd regret that later. His situation was bad, for he only had a limited supply of feathers he could use as weapons, while Eliza had an unlimited supply of ice shards.
Makoto couldn't stop looking from Eliza to Katsumi. He could easily see the worried expression on Katsumi's face. He could also see the distaste on Eliza's. He knew by becoming close to Katsumi, he had gotten himself caught up into something much bigger. Shit.
Eliza and Katsumi had an intense stare down, neither of them moved, waiting to see what the other would do. Eliza finally got tired of this, and threw the ice shard in her hand. Katsumi was just barely able to dodge it, diving out of the way, as he moved, he flung one of his wings out, cringing as the movement hurt him badly. Eliza lifted her arms, in an attempt to shield herself from the feathers. Scratches sprung up on her arms and hands. Cringing she lowered her arms. "Fuck..." She whispered.
Katsumi took a breath. Eliza wouldn't be so hard to beat, it would take a little while, and it would hurt, but it wasn't difficult.
Eliza threw another ice shard, this time, Katsumi couldn't dodge fast enough, and the shard grazed his wing. He staggered in the air, nearly falling, every curse word he knew was shouted. He steadied himself. Maybe she wouldn't be so, not difficult to beat. He should've payed more attention to her while they worked, then again, he never saw this happening.
He'd have to use more, desperate measures. He landed on the ground. He turned his back to Eliza, who was readying another ice shard. Katsumi put Makoto down. "Stay behind me." He said. "Whatever you do, do not move from this spot." Makoto nodded, watching Katsumi turn around. "Okay, one on one." He said, extending his hand in front of him. A cloud of black feathers swirled around his hand, and when they departed, a black sword was in his hand.
Eliza smirked. "On Guard." She said, lifting her own sword. Katsumi raised his. "I did this for a living, way back when." He said. "You stand no chance."
ooOOooOooOoo
Makoto silently watched the demon and angel fight, the sound of ice Vs. Obsidian, at least, that's what it appeared Katsumi's sword was made out of. He knew they would fight until one died. He bit his lip, watching fearfully. He could tell that Katsumi was going through major pain, the way he cringed when he moved his wing wrong being the clue, and Eliza took advantage of that, purposely causing him to have to move in such ways.
Katsumi was forced to move his wing in a way that was unbearableably painful. He fell to his knees, his breaths shallow. He shouted when Eliza's sword cut through his shoulder. He reached up with his free hand and grabbed Eliza's wrist. He looked her straight in the eyes, and drove his sword through her stomach. Her eyes widened, and she coughed. "I'm.. So stupid." She said, falling to her knees. "You think?" Katsumi asked, pushing her off of his sword, and then pulling her blade out of his shoulder. Eliza fell, limp. Katsumi stood up, backing away. His hand shot to his shoulder, holding the wound, in hopes to dull the pain.
