"Mrs Tilsley?" A voice spoke from the other side of the room prompting Carla to stand up quickly.

"How is he? Is he okay? What's going on?" She threw the questions at the man dressed in the long white coat desperate for some answers. It hadn't crossed her mind what Nick had done to her, all that she could think about was what he had done to himself.

The doctor nodded. "He's fine. You can go and sit with him before we discharge him if you like?" He told her before walking off.

An angered Carla soon entered the hospital room, the lights were so bright. The smell made her want to be physically sick, last time she was here. Oh god, the last time she was here she could remember those words ever so clearly that were spoken to her and Nick "I'm sorry Mrs Connor but you've suffered a miscarriage." She shut her eyes for no longer than a split second.

"Go Carla." A broken Nick told her.

Stunned by this she quickly shook her head. "No! No way! Don't you think that I deserve some answers?!" Carla asked her voice getting louder by the second.

Not daring to look at his new wife, Nick's eyes moved from the wall then to the door and back again. He remained silent for a couple of seconds, to Carla this seemed like an eternity. "I'm sorry. Carla I'm really sorry. I think you need to leave, I could have really hurt you. I still can." He spoke just confusing Carla even more.

"Baby your not making any sense?" Carla sighed feeling like Nick was talking in riddles, he had lashed out at her and of course she knew it was out of character. Why had he done that? You could see it in her eyes, the desperation for the answers. She wanted to address what had happened tonight. What she wanted to address was not the way he had acted with her, it was the fact that he had tried to end his life.

Placing his hand on the mark he had left on Carla's cheek, guilt overcame Nick. "My brain injury is back." He admitted.
