** A/N: I'm sorry for the delay in updating! I promise I'm writing ahead, but that doesn't mean anything if I don't post! Enjoy~   xx Peachy-Eyes

My body startled awake and my eyes flashed open. Cold sweat glazed my body as air quickly rushed into my lungs. These nightmares needed to stop. Small tears rolled down my cheeks as I tried to blink them away. They were always about my pack, my mom, and my abandonment.

I've tried to link with her and some of the others, but there was something blocking the connection.

It was 5AM, and I was wide awake. I was way too pent up and needed to blow off some steam. Without any second thoughts, I quickly changed into a sweater dress, and pulled my window open before climbing out.

I soundlessly landed on the pads of my feet and quickly ran to the tree line. Once I was out of sight of curious eyes, I slipped my dress over my head before shifting and bolting towards the forest.

"Finally!" My wolf screamed in excitement. I smiled as I felt the wind caress my coat. My wolf had a unique color to herself: the fur on my back was a reddish-brown color while my belly was a cream color. After a few moments of running wild, I slowed to a stop before dropping onto the floor to roll on my back playfully. I then stood and shook out our fur before intensely stretching.

"It feels so good to stretch!" I couldn't help but laugh at her excitement. I took us to a watering hole to hydrate ourselves.

Stop being a drama queen, but I'm glad to shift too.

I stopped drinking as the breeze carried the sent of another wolf towards me. I lifted my head to smell the air, and before I could turn my head towards my spy, I heard a twig snap.

Suddenly, two wolves jumped from their hiding spots and I yelped in surprise, backing myself up towards the water's edge. They were careful, watching my movements, and ready to pounce at any moment. If anyone dared to challenge me, back at home, I would challenge them back without any hesitation -- but, I wasn't home. Hell, I wasn't even in the same state.

My pack was very friendly with our state allies, so I was comfortable to roam about without any care. However, I was still careful not explore too deep into their territories without their consent.

The wolf to my left growled at me, and I just glared at him, my pride getting the best of me. I was outnumbered, so I did what any competent person would, and ran as fast as i could. But, I guess that wasn't the smartest wolf move. I should've submitted to them and bore my neck to them; but I am an alpha's daughter. I will not let them get the upper hand without a fight; but fighting was a risky move right now.

The pads of my paws pushed firmly into the Earth, as they tried to propel me forward as quickly as possible. However, my clumsy self tripped over a fallen branch, allowing one of the wolves to gain the momentum they needed to attack. She went for my ankle and latched her claws into my thigh as well.

I yelped in pain, but fought against it by retaliating. I used my other leg to kick her muzzle before reaching with my arm to scratch deeply at her back. She released my ankle as she howled in pain. I needed to get home before their reinforcements arrived.

Instead of fighting her, I began to run back to my house. This time, I was extra cautious. It had been raining a lot recently, so I had to be careful and not trip again.

Where is the second o--

I felt him collide into my side before my back went crashing into a tree. Before I knew it I felt the second wolf claw at my arm. He then applied pressure on my jugular with his paw. I could feel my body struggling to refill my lungs. "Fight Elise! If you won't, then I will," my wolf commanded.

I mustered all of my strength to wrap my hind legs around his mid sections, using my claws to dig into his sides. His pain reflex kicked in and he released his hold against my neck in attempts to throw me off of him.

In the midst of our grappling, a loud cry of a gun rang through the air. I froze in fear, as did my opponent.

Hunters were in the area, and I'm sure neither of us wanted to deal with those monsters. I begged with my eyes for him to let me go, and surprisingly he complied before running back where he came from. Without any hesitation, I too ran back home.

Once the tree line was in sight, I shifted before grabbing my dress off the ground and slipping it on. Then, I hid behind a few trees, only hearing the sound of my heart in my ears, and feeling the air fill and escape my lungs. My body was numb with adrenaline.

After deeming that the coast was clear, I sprinted back towards the house and entered my window, shutting it closed behind me. I quickly closed all my blinds and headed to the shower to wash the smell of Earth and blood off my skin.

It was now 7:30 AM and I looked like hell. I needed to get out of the house before Peter saw me, but I also needed my body to heal in time before school started. So many things to get done, with so little time.

I needed to decide which factor was least dangerous.

... Shit.
