Chapter Three.

Third person's point of view.

After Ruby and Jaune's little turnaround they finally found the Academy's giant auditorium, filled to the brim with people. Ruby looks over when she hears Yang's voice. Her sister was standing in a place with a spot for her, "Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" Ruby turning to Jaune says quicky, "Oh! Hey, I-I gotta go! I'll see you after the ceremony!" then leaves. "Hey, wait!" he sighs, "Ah, great. Where am I supposed to find another nice, quirky girl to talk to?!" he moves on to reveal Pyrrha standing behind him,

A hand on her hip as she watches him walk away. Yang with her arms crossed asks, "How's your first day going, little sister?" when Ruby reaches her side, "You mean since you ditched me and I exploded?" Yang confused looked at her sister for an explanation, "Yikes, Meltdown already?" Yang asked thinking it might be that and that Ruby was pranking her. "No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school! And there was some fire, and I think some ice...?" Ruby explained, smiling broadly Yang teased,

"Are you being sarcastic?" But Ruby shook her head, Ruby scoffs as the view pans around to reveal Weiss right next to her, "I wish! I tripped over some crabby girl's luggage, and then she yelled at me, and then I sneezed, and then I exploded, and then she yelled at me again, and I felt really, really bad, and I just wanted her to stop yelling at me!" She explained using hand gestures to make her point. "YOU!" Weiss yells again scaring Ruby into Yang's arms, "Oh, God, it's happening again!"

She cried out, "You're lucky we weren't blown off the side of the cliff!" Weiss yelled and Rowan waved slightly as he was visible over Weiss' shoulder, "Oh, my God, you really exploded..." Yang says finally understanding that Ruby was telling her the literal truth. "It was an accident." Ruby says while climbing down from Yang. Weiss with a pamphlet, turned back to Ruby, "What's this?" Ruby asks. But Weiss already shot into her explanation,

"The Schnee Dust Company is not responsible for any injuries or damages sustained while operating a Schnee Dust Company product. Although not mandatory, the Schnee Family highly encourages their customers to read and familiarize themselves with this easy to follow guide to Dust applications and practices in the field." Ruby looked so confused by this, and to her, Weiss sounded like a chipmunk as she spoke quicker, "Uuhhh...?" Ruby groaned as her brain was probably spinning.

"You really wanna start making things up to me?" Ruby nodded, "Absolutely?" Weiss handed the pamphlet to Ruby and said, "Read this, and don't ever speak to me again." Yang wanting to defuse the situation said, "Look, uh, it sounds like you two just got off on the wrong foot. Why don't you start over and try to be friends, okay?" Ruby put the pamphlet away and smiled, "Yeah! Great idea, sis!" holding out her hand as she cleared her throat, "Hello, Weiss! I'm Ruby! Wanna hang out? We can go shopping for school supplies!" Weiss though seemingly enthusiastic said,

"Yeah! And we can paint our nails and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like tall, blonde, and scraggly over there!" She finished pointing to Jaune over her shoulder, "Wow! really?" Ruby asked hopeful, Weiss gave Ruby dead silence under her glare, "No." Everyone's attention is drawn to the stage, where Professor Ozpin is readying the microphone, with Glynda beside him. "I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction."

He said as the students whisper among themselves, "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." As Ozpin leaves Glynda steps up to talk, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." "He seemed kind of... off." Yang says completely creeped out, "It's almost like he wasn't even there." Ruby added,

Approaching Weiss from the side Jaune says, "I'm a natural blond, you know!" Weiss puts her hand to her face in exasperation. Ruby seeing the tall guy from the front of the school, rushed over to him, "Hey! wait up!" she called and he stopped to look at her, "You were the one that helped me back at the Dust Shop the night before." he nodded and smirked slightly. "I never got the chance to thank you or introduce myself." he shook his head. "Hey, Ruby wait up why'd you run off for?" Yang called while running to her sister.

"Yang this is the person I told you about." Yang looked at her sister then to the tall guy, and her eyes widen. She had never seen a guy that tall before or that attractive. His black hair fell across his face and neck in thick layers and framing his golden amber eyes which were locked on her as she stared at him, blushing she let her eyes flicker away and smiled. "This is my sister Yang, I'm Ruby by the way," Ruby said not understanding what was going on and wanted to know what his name was.

Taking Yang's hand, drew her attention back to him, "I'm Shuiro Kuro, it is very nice to meet you Yang." pulling her hand up to his lips he pressed a soft kiss to her exposed fingers, "I'd love to stay and talk some more but I want to find the ballroom and get ready for initiation tomorrow." letting her hand go as she nodded he turned on his heels and left, Yang blushing as red as a tomato and Ruby startled by what had happened.
