Third person's point of view.

The first night at Beacon, students are splayed out in sleeping bags. Ruby, in her pajamas and with a sleeping mask around her head, is writing in a journal when Yang crashes next to her, similarly dressed. "It's like a big slumber party!" Yang cheers, without looking up Ruby says back, "I don't think Dad would approve of all the boys, though." purring at several shirtless guys, and Shuiro who was in an open sweater which exposed his well toned upper body, Yang smirked, "I know I do!" but Jaune, dressed in feetie pajamas, waved to her.

Which made her groan before she returns her attention to Ruby. "What's that?" she asks curiously, "A letter to the gang back at Signal. I promised to tell them all about Beacon and how things are going." Ruby explained sadly, "Aw, that's so cuuuute!" Yang coos, but it then hit in the face with a pillow, "Shut up! I didn't get to take my friends with me to school! It's weird not knowing anyone here!" Ruby argues her argument, not including Yang. "What about Jaune? He's... nice! There you go! Plus one friend! That's a hundred percent increase!" Yang shoots back.

Ruby turning on her back scoffs, "Pretty sure Weiss counts as a negative friend. Back to zero..." "There's no such things as negative friends! You just made one friend and one enemy!" Yang says only to get hit with another pillow, this time looking like a dog, to the face. "Look, it's only been one day. Trust me; you've got friends all around you! You just haven't met them yet!" she said hoping her sister didn't have another pillow to whip at her, the two sisters notice a candle being lighted nearby, and Blake Belladonna is seen leaning against a wall, reading her book.

"That girl..." Ruby says looking at Blake, "You know her?" Yang questions, Ruby shook her head, "Not really. She saw what happened this morning, but left before I could say anything." grinning Yang grabs Ruby's arm and lifts her up, "Well, now's your chance!" "Wait! What are you doing?!" Ruby groans as Yang still pulled her after herself, Blake looks over her book to see Ruby unsuccessfully struggling against Yang's grip as she leads her sister over to Blake's spot before letting go. "Hel-looooo! I believe you two may know each other?" Yang called out in a sing-a-long voice.

"Aren't you... that girl that exploded?" Blake asked looking at Ruby, "Uh, yeah! My name's Ruby! But you can just call me...Crater..." but she trailed off embarrassed, "Actually, you can just call me Ruby." Blake back in her book whispers softly, "Okay." Yang whispering to Ruby asks sharply, "What are you doing?" only for Ruby to whisper back just as sharp, "I don't know - help me!" then goes back to smiling. Shuiro smirked as Yang and Ruby spoke to the dark haired girl from this morning, she looked like she just wanted to read but they wanted to talk.

Turning from them Shuiro lay on his back and rested his flesh hand under his head and closed his eyes, he hoped for a peaceful night, he didn't want to deal with nightmares, it would be both a bother and a nuisance if he couldn't keep his subconscious from ruining his night. The countless missions and all the bad he had to do for the sake of his home that had been destroyed without his knowledge, the constant fights with the Grimm, and the painful tests and experimentations. Those alone were enough to fuel Ao's nightmares.

"So... What's your name?" Yang asked to start up a conversation, Blake sighing in annoyance as she's distracted yet again answers, "Blake." "Well, Blake, I'm Yang, Ruby's older sister! I like your bow!" Yang says introducing herself irritating Blake at the same time, "Thanks!" she snaps "It goes great with your... pajamas!" Yang says awkwardly. Confused Blake mumbles an awkward "right..." and looks back to her book again, as Ruby laughs uncomfortably, "Nice night, don't you think?" Yang asks.

And Blake has had it, "Yes - it's lovely! Almost as lovely as this book!" but Ruby and Yang just stand there, "That I will continue to read." but the two girls don't move, "As soon as you leave!" Yang looks to Ruby, "Yeah, this girl's a lost cause." and starts to leave only Ruby asks, "What's it about?" Surprised Blake looks up at Ruby, "huh?" "Your book. What's it about?" Blake looks at her book before answering, "Well... i-it's about a man with two souls, each fighting for control over his body."

"Oh, yeah... That's real lovely!" Yang says sarcastically. "I love books. Yang used to read to me every night before bed. Stories of heroes and monsters... They're one of the reasons I want to be a Huntress!" Ruby told Blake heartfully. Laughing a bit Blake says, "And why is that? Hoping you'll live happily ever after?" Ruby nodded, "Well, I'm hoping we all will. As a girl, I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books... Someone who fought for what was right, and protect people who couldn't protect themselves!" "That's... very ambitious for a child." she says with a smile at first but then frowns.

"Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale." Ruby smiled more, "Well, that's why we're here! To make it better." she says believing her own words. "Oh, I am so proud of my baby sister!" Yang says and hugs Ruby into the air. Kicking out Ruby shouts, "Cut it out!" the forced sisterly bonding evolves into a dust cloud of fighting limbs and flying stars. Blake while laughing slightly says, "Well, Ruby, Yang, it's a pleasure to ha-" but she's cut off by Weiss storming onto the scene in her own pajamas as Ruby traps Yang's leg,

"What in the world is going on over here?! Don't you realize some of us are trying to sleep?" "Oh, not you again!" Yang snarls at Weiss, "Shh! Guys, she's right! People are trying to sleep!" Ruby says agreeing with Weiss, "Oh, now you're on my side!" Weiss snaps glaring down at Ruby, "I was always on your side!" yells back completely forgetting that people are trying to sleep, "Yeah, what's your problem with my sister? She's only trying to be nice!" Yang roars,

"She's a hazard to my health!" Blake, who rolls her eyes at the fight, simply closes her book, reaches over to grab her candle, and blows it out, enveloping the everyone in darkness.
