One Man Team. [RWBY Fanfiction - Yang Xiao Long LS]

Chapter Nine.

The sight of Weiss Schnee and Ruby Rose hanging on to something very feathery and very fast is shown as evidenced by the loud wind and the two being blown sideways. Weiss shouting to be heard yells at Ruby, "Ruby! I told you this was a terrible idea!" Ruby also raising her voice shouts back, "We're fine! Stop worrying!" she says trying to ease Weiss, "I am so far beyond worrying!"

But it doesn't work and Ruby's confused. "In a good way?" she shouts back, "In a bad way! In a very bad way!" coming up with an idea Ruby shouts to Weiss, "Well, why don't we just jump?" Panicked Weiss shouts back, "What are you? Insane?!" But she is met with silence as Ruby has already disappeared. "Oh, you insufferable little red-!"

Down on the ground in the Abandoned Temple, Blake Belladonna is still staring skyward and pointing for Yang Xiao Long to look up. "Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?" Ruby falling right towards them, finally getting Yang's attention, "Heads uuuuuuuup!" Just as she's about to hit the ground panicking,

Jaune Arc comes flying through the air and crashes into Ruby, knocking her off course and sending them both into a tree to the left of where Blake and Yang are standing. Ruby is dazed by the rough landing -as evidenced by the cutesy Beowolves and stars circling her head-. "Oohhhh... What was that?" Ruby groans as the dizziness passes when she shakes her head.

Jaune clears his throat for Ruby's attention, "Eh-hem!" Ruby looks up to see Jaune hanging upside-down in a tree branch above her, "Hey, Ruby..." he greets as she stares at him.

Blake back on the ground and looking at the tree says to Yang, "Did your sister just fall from the sky?" Yang so turned around was only able to mumble a single letter, "I..." before something else happened. Several crashing noises are heard in the forest ahead of them, and an Ursa comes out,

Claws swiping, just as a pink blast of energy hits it in the back and it crashes to the ground, depositing its rider. "YEEEE-HAAAAW!" Nora cheers while she rolls off of the creature's back, then gets up and groans, saddened, "Awwww... It's broken." she dashes onto its neck and observes the carcass as Ren comes up behind her.

Ren panting and leaning on the monster while leaning on his knee, says to his partner, "Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again." but when he looks up he notices by the pink dotted outline of where his partner should be that Nora has run off again, and looks around frantically. Nora now in the Temple, staring at a golden rook relic,

"Oooohh..." suddenly she grabs it, an animation of stars and her hammer symbol playing in the pink background as she dances and sings with the chess piece, "I'm Queen of the castle! I'm Queen of the castle!" Ren from where he and Nora came in shouted for her, "Nora!" Nora stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand,

"Coming, Ren!" then skips off to her friend. "Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Blake asks to no one in particular but Yang was still having a hard time catching up. "I..." She is interrupted once more as a screech is heard from their right, and Pyrrha Nikos comes onto the scene as the scorpion creature uproots entire trees in its chase after her.

Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running. "Jaune!" Pyrrha calls seeing her partner hanging from a tree branch. "Pyrrha!" Jaune calls back happy to see her, Ruby standing up, looking at the monster below smiles, "Whoa!" she gasps before she starts running off of the branch and landing in a roll.

Jaune whining calls after Ruby, "Ruby!" but she had already gone leaving him behind.

Yang as Ruby stands up, back on the ground, cheers gleefully, "Ruby!"
