"Jasper, I am driving! We made a deal remember?" I laughed as I fought for the driver's seat of Jasper's car.
"Nope, we called it off...remember?!" He grinned, making my heart melt. There was no doubt that I had been growing even closer to Jasper than before, and I knew it was wrong. He was married to Alice for crying out loud!
"I don't care, I'm driving!" I shouted back.
"No, you're not!" He said, picking me up off the seat, throwing me over hsi shoulder and walking around the car, throwing me in the passenger seat, then running back to the driver's seat.
I growled, though I wasn't mad at him, for amused than anything.
"I win," He grinned easily, then took off down the driveway. We had left ten minutes after everybody else, bickering over who would drive.
"Hey, where's Alice?"
"With Bella and Edward. It's Bella's birthday and Alice has to convince her to come to the party."
"Nobody told me this." I gaped at him.
He raised a brow at me. "No? Well, Alice already bought your present for her."
I laughed at that. "Of course she did. How is Alice anyway? I haven't spoken to her in a while."
"She's Alice, she's fine, she's busy." He said in a distant voice.
"Is that all?" I asked, hinting at his tone.
He glanced over, and I was shocked to see hurt in his eyes. "I'm not sure. We've been fighting."
"Fighting? About what?"
"Everything."
I sighed and put my hand on his shoulder. "It'll be alright, Jazzy. You'll be okay." I said, then faced forward. "At least you have someone who cares enough about you to fight with you."
He gave me a look, and placed his hand on mine briefly.
We pulled into the driveway. School had been much the same, but tonight was the night of the party. YAY...not.
"Mwahaha!" I laughed, getting out of the driver's side. "I knew I'd convince you to hand over the keys." I laughed as I shut the door behind me.
"Lovely, Anya." Jasper said as he sntached the keys off me and we walked inside. Alice and Edward were at Bella's, but I gather Alice would be home soon, to decorate.
I was right, and Alice was home half an hour later, all cheery and bubbly because of the party. I sighed as she threw me some balloons.
"Alice, I am not idoing this-"
"Oh yes you are! Now, get working."
I growled, and blew up all the balloons in record timing. "There, now, I'm going to go get dressed." I said as I ran up the steps and into the bathroom. I gripped the sink tightly, though not tight enough to smash it, then look at my reflections and sighed. I was wreck, even for a vampire.
"Are you alright?" I heard someone ask, and I spun around to see Jasper looking at me, dressed in only a towel around his waist, his hair wet, as well as his sculpted abs.
"Oh, Jazz, I'm so sorry. I didn't know-"
"It's fine." He smirked. "Are you okay?"
I nodded hastily. "Of course. Sorry Jasper." I bit my lip and whizzed out of the room. Awkward.
Slipping into a soft apricot coloured dress that was probably a bit too dressy for a party, I brushed my hair, tied it up on top of my head, with spiralling strands dangling acros my face and neck, then applied a light lipstick, eyeshadow and a pearl necklace.
