Jasper was having one of his days: locked in his room, not speaking, not socialising.
I sat on the couch and fiddled with a piece of lace on my pants. It was lonely without Jasper here. I looked around, and sighed. A growl ripped through my chest, and I tood, stalking down the hall to Jasper's room.
"Jasper..." I said, knocking on the door.
No response.
"Jazzy? Can I come in?" I asked.
No response.
Sighing, I turned the knob and walked inside. He was there, sitting on his bed, his head in his hands.
"Jasper, stop it." I said, crossing my arms over my chest.
He didn't look up.
"Jasper."
He still didn't look up.
I sighed and sat on the ground, bringing my knees up to my chest and hugging them.
"Jazzy, I'm lonely."
He looked up then, and made his way to stand in front of me. "I'm sorry, but I can't just be happt like you expect me to. My Alice is gone."
I felt a pang in my chest at that, and I stood up. I stood a few good feet shorter than Jasper, but his mood made him seem smaller. "Jazzy, let's go do something. Go into the city-"
"No," he growled. "I'm not celebrating Alice's departure."
"Fine. Jasper, you're going to be the death of me..." I sighed, and was about to turn on my heel and walk away, but I stopped, and looked at Jasper. He wore a raw, hurt look on his face, and he sat back down on his mattress.
I took a seat beside him, and he laid his head on my shoulder. "Shh...I'm sorry for not understanding."
He nodded. "You shouldn't have to see me like this."
"Jasper, you can't be a military major all the time." I told him, playing with his hair.
A few minutesd passed, before I said. "Hey, how about we have a dance? I think there's some old CD's here, maybe we could just have a good time, then watch some movies. What do you think?"
He straightened, and looked me in the eye.
I smirked and grabbed his hand, hauling him out of his room. He groaned, but followed me.
"Now, you go hunt, and I'll get everything ready."
He shot me a look, but smile afterwards, and took off out of the house.
I dressed in an evening gown, and put on some old classics, some of them slow, others upbeat. I brought the stereo out onto the shore, and waited for Jasper.
He came back after a good twenty minutes. He looked at me wide-eyed, then at the setting. He cracked a smile and walked over. His clothes were clean, and he looked like a gentleman, as always.
"I didn't think it would be this grand." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "It's not grand. Now, how about we dance?"
He nodded and held out his hand. I laid mine in his, and he pecked the back of it. "May I have this dance, ma'am?"
"You may."
He smirked and put a hand on my waist an the other in my palm.
We began with a slow dance, and then a faster, 40's type of dance, and then another slow dance.
I sighed as I leaned my head on his chest and intertwined our hands together. Perfect.
We were standing in the ocean now, the water lapping at just below our ankles. He rested his chin on the crown of my head, and then kissed it.
"Thank you, Annie."
I looked up at him and smiled. "My pleasure, Major Whitlock."
He smiled and pecked my nose.
I giggled and he pressed his forehead to mine. "Come Josephine, in my flying machine, going up she goes, up she goes. Balance yourself like a bird on a beam, in the air she goes, there she goes, up, up, a little bit higher. Oh my, the moon's on fire. Come Josephine in my flying machine, going up, all on, goodbye." He whispered in my ear.
I shared with him a small, almost sad smile. "That's my favourite nursery rhyme song."
"How did I guess?" His golden eyes bore into mine.
"Don't ask me." I closed my eyes as we danced to the song.
Perfect.
We danced for hours, until the sun rose.
Hope you al like it, I was in a Titanic mood, so 'Come Josephine in My Flying Machine' was therefore put in. Love the song anyway, especially in Titanic, it's kinda sad....:( but anyway, let me know what you think! <3
