Chapter 2: A new beginning

As Harley opened her eyes, the memory of what had happened ran through her mind. It took a few moments until she realized that someone was running their hands through her hair. She looked up to see Ivy smiling at her as she ran her fingers though Harley's soft blonde hair. "Good morning beautiful." Ivy said with the kindest smile Harley had seen in a long time. "Good morning gorgeous." Harley replied as she smiled and blushed softly. Ivy moved her hand to Harley's cheek and softly caressed it with her long delicate fingers.

"So, I was thinking, why don't you team up with me?" Ivy suggested, whispering sensually into Harley's ear. "I promise I'll treat you better than The Joker ever did." She added. Harley smiled up at Ivy softly, her cheeks starting to turn bright pink. "I'd like that." Harley said with a soft smile as she nuzzled Ivy's hand softly. Ivy wrapped her arms around Harley gently, holding her close and protectively as she smiled at her. "I'll never let anyone hurt you like that again." Ivy said in a voice that made Harley know she meant it. Tears started to fill Harley's eyes as she nuzzled her face into Ivy.

"Thank you, Ivy." Harley said as she clings to Ivy "I'm glad I have you, I'll never take you for granted." She added as Ivy smiled and stroked her hair. "I'm glad I have you too, my little sociopath." Ivy said making Harley giggle as she lifted her head to gaze into Ivy's eyes. At that moment, Harley's lips met Ivy's. Their eyes widened as Ivy scooted back quickly. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to." Ivy said as tears started to fill her eyes, thinking she had just killed her closest friend, before she noticed Harley tilting her head at her.

"What's wrong Ivy?" Harley asked blushing and smiling cutely. "Y...you...you're not dead." Ivy stuttered. Harley looked at herself and patted herself softly, as if she was checking herself. "Nope, alive and well...mostly." Harley said as she smiles at Ivy. Ivy made her way back over to Harley and softly caressed her cheek again as she gazed into her eyes. "Would you mind if I checked something, sweetie?" Ivy asked. "I...is it gonna hurt?" Harley asked as she nuzzles Ivy's hand softly. "I can promise it won't." Ivy said. "If it doesn't work you'll die a painless death." Ivy said as her face fell into a saddened look.

"I trust you Ivy, go ahead." Harley said with a smile as she tilted her head cutely. Ivy inhaled deeply before leaning in and kissing Harley deeply and passionately. Harley's eyes went wide and filled with tears of happiness as she began to kiss Ivy back, clinging to her tightly as they deepened the kiss. After a few moments, they broke the kiss and Harley smiled at Ivy. Ivy looked at Harley in astonishment. "H...h...how are you not dead?" Ivy asked as she looked at Harley in amazement. "Huh?" Harley asked before nodding. "Oh yeah, that's right, your kiss is poisonous...hey wait a minute." Harley said as she looked to Ivy. Ivy smiled and blushed cutely making Harley's heart skip a beat.

"I promised if it didn't work that it would kill you painlessly." Ivy said in her defense. Harley smiled and wrapped her arms around the back of Ivy's neck before planting another deep kiss on her lips, making Ivy's eyes widen as she blushed and kissed Harley back. "What was that for?" Ivy asked after they broke the kiss again. Harley smiled innocently and blushed cutely as she gazed into ivy's eyes. "Double checking?" She said like she hadn't just wanted to kiss Ivy again.

Ivy smiled and wrapped her arms around the little sociopath's waist. "You know what this means Harley?" Ivy asked in a soft sensual voice. "hmmm.... we're soulmates?" Harley replied blushing as she gazed back into Ivy's eyes lovingly. Ivy giggled and kissed Harley's cheek. "Yeah, pretty much." She replied before sweeping Harley up into her arms and carrying her downstairs. "I still don't know how this is possible." Ivy said as she smiled at Harley in her arms. "But I'm glad it is." She added, making Harley blush and smile as she clung to her. "Maybe it's because of all the times I've been poisoned." Harley said, using her medical knowledge and expertise. "Maybe I've built up a tolerance to poison." She added. Ivy thought as she sat Harley down at the kitchen counter. Using her own scientific expertise to come to the same conclusion. "That would make sense." She said smiling at Harley as she reached over the refrigerator, pulling down a box of cereal as she smiled at Harley, pouring her a bowl and sliding it to her.

"Ivy..." Harley said looking up at her smiling and blushing cutely. "hmm?" Ivy replied. "Don't worry, I'm never going back to Mr. J. Especially after how good you treat me compared to him." Harley said smiling at Ivy innocently. Ivy's smile widened as she watched Harley begin to eat the cereal. "I'm glad, sweetie, you deserve a lot better than him." Ivy replied as she walked behind Harley and wrapped her arms around her waist, watching her eat. "I got better, I got you." Harley said smiling and blushing with a mouthful of cereal. "Here's to our new beginning." Ivy said kissing Harley's cheek softly, making her blush even more, before Harley turned and kissed her deeply again.
