Tangled love

Chapter 5: Out of the old, into the better.

As Harley and Ivy made their way back to Ivy's hideout, there was an explosion across town. Harley smiled at Ivy and giggled. "I guess Mr. A was there after all." She said with another cute giggle. Ivy raised an eyebrow at her comment. "Mr. A?" She asked. "Yeah, Mr. asshole" Harley replied making Ivy burst out laughing. As she finished laughing Harley leaned in and kissed her deeply and lovingly making Ivy blush.

Later that night as Harley and Ivy were out at dinner Batman showed up and informed them that Joker was not there. As Harley gave him another possible safe house that Joker might be hiding out at, Batman asked Harley if it would be ok if he was to talk to Ivy for a minute. Harley looked at Ivy who nodded and followed Batman to the far side of the restaurant, still within Harley's eye shot.

"So what's the deal between you and Harley?" He asked in his usual stern voice. Ivy smiled at him and replied. "Simple, we're partners and lovers." Batman got a surprised look on his face as he blushed lightly, hearing Ivy confirm that her and Harley were lovers. "Don't worry, I know why you asked. Keeping tabs on possible trouble makers." Ivy said."Well, that, and I think it's good for both of you. I see how you two are together. It's pretty clear that you two are good for each other." Batman replied as he looked back at Harley. Ivy walked back to Harley and kissed her deeply and lovingly.

 Seeing the surprised expression on Batman's face made them both giggle "We figure I'm immune cause of all the times Mr. A poisoned me." Harley explained. He turned to Harley and Ivy. "Ivy, I spoke to the parole board and they've agreed to let you off the hook this time." He said. Ivy breathed a sigh of relief as Harley looked at her and then to batman. "So she's not going to jail?" Harley asked. "No she's not Harley." Batman replied as he pressed a button on his belt making the bat-mobile roll up behind him.

Ivy and Harley smiled at each other as Ivy carried Harley back to the hideout and laid her on the bed. As Harley ripped herself free of her clothes Ivy smiled at her. "I got something I wanna say." She said as she smiled at Harley. Harley tilted her head curiously "What's that baby?" She asked as Ivy's smile grew wider. "Welcome home." Ivy said as she crawled into bed with Harley. Harley's eyes started to fill with tears as she clung to Ivy tightly, finally feeling like she was home.

"Out of the old and into the better." Harley said in a low loving voice that reflected how happy she was, as she fell asleep in Ivy's arms, feeling safe and loved. Ivy held her close as she smiled and blushed, watching her sleeping in her arms, as she closed her eyes and whispered. "Out of the old and into the better." before falling asleep smiling as she held Harley even closer to her.
