-------------------------------------------------My alarm clock went off at exactly 5 a.m. I got out of my silk covers and went to practice my piano for a bit. I want senior year to go quickly and smoothly with no bumps or hiccups. I'm ready to start the next chapter of my life, college.
For my outfit I put on a black shirt, the sleeves stop at my elbow. Next I put on a pastel pink skinny jeans. My hair was already curled from last night. I put on some small pearl earrings. For my shoes I grabbed some short black heels. I'm 5 feet tall I need all the help I can get.I sat in my in my white chair in front of my lit vanity to admire my self. I have to admit that I am pretty. I don't know why but there's a new trend with teenage girls calling themselves ugly so others can correct them. You know what I mean? Like you ever looked at some who looked almost enchanting and they said "I'm so ugly." I find that aggravating.
After eating breakfast. I left for school. Here we go.
"Vivian!" I heard Julie shriek from down the hall. I hugged my best friend. We have always been polar opposites. She is the girl that always has a boyfriend. She is bold and loud. I'm not shy or quiet, but I'm not as bold or as brave as she is."Senior year, your finally here." She sang dramatically and handed me a cup of coffee. I rolled my eyes at her and walked alongside her.
"I saw you getting close with Matt, maybe this is the year you finally loose your v-card" Julie said while wiggling her eyebrows.
"Be quiet" I replied feeling flustered. I could feel my pale cheeks turning rosy red.
"She hasn't even had her first kiss" a third voice chimed in.
"Tyler!" I said animatedly. He has been away at a football camp at some college in Georgia all summer.
"For your information I kissed Jason Matthews on the cheek in the second grade"I recorded , he and Julie laughed at my statement.
I chatted with everyone in the halls. I guess you could say I'm kind of popular, but I'm not mean. I have known all of these faces since pre school. That's when I noticed one unfamiliar face, he must be the knew boy. I should introduce my self. He is hanging out with some of the bad kids. That smoke weed and skip school. Not my crowd.Right when I was about to walk towards him the bell rang.
"Welcome to A.P. Biology seniors" Mr. Courts said while handing me the class syllabus so I could pass it out to the class. That's when the new boy walked into class late. He took a seat right next to mine. When I returned to my seat. I looked at him. He was wearing a black leather jacket and black jeans. He was also wearing black shoes. I'm assuming that's his favorite color.
"Hi, I'm Vivian you must be new to town" I greeted him.
He nodded his head and mumbled "Jake"" Where are you from Jake?" I could tell he didn't want to talk but I couldn't help it.
"Los Angeles " he replied under his breath. I nodded and returned to facing the board.
"Vivian could you please explain why we need to incorporate protein in our diets" Courts said while looking at me. If you can't tell teachers love me, they also love calling on me in class. I don't mind being teachers pet. I don't know about you but my teacher's opinions are really important to me.
" They start chemical reactions in our body and help build muscle" I replied.
"Very good Vivian"
The bell rang and Jake was up and out of his seat. He left his jacket behind, I grabbed it for him . I'll just return it to him later. I noticed that it has his named embedded in the back.
As I was walking out the door I heard Courts say "Vivian may I speak with you. I turned around to face my biology teacher.
" I think you should apply to help out in the middle school science classes Mondays after school, it's an amazing opportunity take it"
I grabbed the application from his desk and thanked him. This is an amazing opportunity and it will look good on my college apps.
In the hallway I bumped into Tyler.
"How is your first day going Ty" I asked him.
"Epic, Brianna Sanders just gave me head behind the bleachers" he replied with a proud tone. I scrunched my nose and walked away. Of course she did. I heard him laughing at my reaction in the background. Boys.
The day was finally over and I drove over to the town restaurant to meet Tyler, Matt, and Julie. This is tradition.
I was surprised when I saw Briana there too. I shot Tyler a confused look and he replied with a disarming smile. I shook my head.
"Hi Vianca" Brianna said while looking at me.
"It's Vivian "I said with a soft smile. I went to go grab us some napkins when I saw Jake outside the window. I dropped the napkins and ran outside.
"Jake !" I yelled so he could hear me, he looked at me and kept walking. Rude.
"I've got your jacket!" I yelled he them turned around and ran over to me. I handed it to him with a smile. He muttered a quick thank you and started to turn around but I grabbed his arm.
"Hey you should come eat with me and my friends "I asked in my usual polite tome. He laughed and shook his head. He laughs who knew.
"Or you should come to church this Sunday, my father's the pastor we have great services and then a big dinner afterwards you could meet some knew people"
"Me and church, yeah no" he said, his brown eyes met mine for once and he softened up his mean look.
"Look maybe I will come " he changed his mine. I smiled and leg him go. I headed back to the diner to see my friends smirking.
"This whole time you liked bad boys who would've known " Matt said as I sat down.
"He's hot I'm proud of you Vivs, tell me what you said" Julie said in her usual loud voice
"Well I invited him to chu-"
"Oh my gosh " They all said in unison.
I don't see the problem. I headed home and did some homework. I didn't have much considering the fact that it's the first day. I can't help but feel like god answered my prayer. I met someone new. Someone different. Someone cute. That night I went to sleep with Jake on my mind.
