It's been a week since senior year started and I'm already drowning in homework. Oh and guess who didn't show up to church Sunday? Jake.
I really care for him, which scares me. I want my senior year to go without any bumps or hiccups like I said, but I'm afraid Jake's becoming one. He hasn't been in class for the past week. I usually wake up at five and practice piano for one hour but instead I've been spending the hour fantasizing about how I could get Jake to be my boyfriend.
Silly of me.
Anyways, today is Monday and now I must get ready for school. I tied my hair up into a messy ponytail. I put on a plain white t-shirt and black leggings and my short black heels. I skipped to my kitchen and made some toast for breakfast.
"Ooo thanks for the toast" I heard an annoying voice announce while walking into my house.
"Tyler, please let yourself in " I said in a sarcastic voice.
He nodded and grabbed some toast. My car is acting up and I don't know what's wrong with it. So Tyler is giving me a ride. I opened the passenger door to find a cheery Briana.
"Hi Vianca" she said while twirling her brown hair.
"It's Vivian" Tyler and I said in unison. This is starting to get annoying.
When I approached my locker I saw a familiar red head standing there wating for me with coffee. I love my best friend.
"You ready for this student council meeting Ms.President." Julie said while handing me this coffee.
"I like Jake" I said ambivalently.
"Vivian, I'm happy that you like someone but your sort of naive and he is sort of apathetic" she replied while giving me a empathetic look.
I knew she was right. She knew I knew she was right so she pulled me into her side and rested her head on my shoulder and we picked up our coffee cups and clacked them together , while walking into the student council meeting.
"So let's talk about tonight's game" I said while resting my hands on my desk.
The meeting was finally over and I headed to Courts class. I noticed a certain someone was present today. I made beeline to the desk I share with Jake.
"Gone for a week and never showed up at the church" I said while sitting down.
" I had to visit someone back home" he said apologetically. For once I actually heard his real voice. It's deep and kind of sexy. I have never even thought that word before. Sexy. It's a foreign word to my mind but perfectly describes Jake's voice.
"Oh that sounds cool" I said in my usual bubbly voice.
"You're nice you know " he said while copying the board on to the worksheet.
"Yes, it's good to be nice to people what goes around comes around " I stated.
He nodded his head. I could tell our conversation was over, but I wanted to keep talking.
"Who did you visit in L.A. " I blurted out. Ew I never do that. He shot me a strange look.
"Don't scrutinize me Jake" I said which made him laugh. His laugh is cute.
" I was visiting my brother" he said in a matter of fact way.
"To make up for your absence you have to attend tonight's football game with me and my friends" I said the bell rang and I got up and left as the bell rang, before he could disagree. I may have also "accidentally" left my jacket with him.
Jake's POV
After the bubbly girl declared that I attend the game with her she got up before I could decline. Smart. At first I was going to just ignore her like I do all chatty girls, but I can't. She seems different.
I realized she left her pink jacket. I grabbed and ran after her and shouted her name but she turned around and kept walking. Biology is my only class with her I guess I will have to go the game with her to return it.
I must admit Vivian is a beautiful girl and I have a feeling she might be into me, but maybe she's just nice to everyone like that. We'll see at the game tonight.
She is very pale but in an elegant way. She is also an easy blusher. Which is adorable. I'm about to ditch my other classes though. I only came to Biology to see her. I need to be careful, I'm only hear until graduation. When she finds out about my history she'll go running for the hills. I called up my buddies so we could some smoke weed. I know it's bad, but it is what it is.
Vivian's POV
"How was school sweetie" my mom said while preparing me an after school snack. I admire my mother. She's an amazing role model.
"Great, I wanted to ask your permission to go to the football game " I asked her while finishing up my sandwich.
"Of course I'm so proud of you why not" she said while handing me a 100 dollar bill. I smiled and gave her a hug. I called Matt to ask him for a ride to the football game. He told me he's on his way. I went up to my room and changed into my school shirt and some jean shorts.
I smiled at my reflection in the mirror and took a quick picture. I heard the honk of Matt's huge pickup truck. I walked outside and hopped in.
"Ready" he asked in a cheerful voice. He loves football, but he doesn't play.
"Born ready " I said with an eager smile as he sped off to the school. Jake better be there.
