James POV
We have spent the last few days doing the same routine. Going down to the library and talking until late into the night. It has been the best few days of my life the more I know the more I love her. We fit together like two puzzle pieces.
I have found out that we are opposites in so many ways, but we also have so much in common. She prefers to est fruity flavours while I like chocolate. We both like no pineapple on our pizza. I'm tall she's short. We both are night owls and not morning people.
Beti has become more comfortable around me. She jokes around with me, and has even started to become a little sarcastic. I hope that she fells the same way I have about the last few days.
The shower shuts off and I wait patiently for Beti to come out. The door cracks open and she comes in wearing an oversized T-shirt and short shorts. She has been getting healthyer as the days keep going on. She now has more meat on her bones, her hair is gaining a healthy glow, and her skin is no longer pail and sickly.
She gets into bed and lays her wet hair on the pillow. She looks stunning laying here in my bed only a few feet away. She turns around to look at me with those beautiful chocolatety brown eyes.
"you never answered my question." she says and I raised my eyebrow at her.
"What question? Why I never likes mash potato's?" I ask setting the book she recommend down.
"No. The one I asked a few nights ago, about how you died." she says and I freeze. I was sure she had forgotten all about that.
"Oh." I say looking away. "I really don't think you need to hear that right now. Maybe tomorrow." I say in an attempt to avoid the question.
"Oh no. You told me you would tell me in the morning last time. You're not getting out of this again. Tell me." she says bravely. I lean in closer to her so our heads are maybe a foot apart.
"Only if you agree to doing something for me." I say in hushed tones.
"What." she says as I get even closer. I can fell her breath on my face and her heart rate picks up.
"you....." our noses touch "Tell me your full name." I say pulling always back to my original position. Her eyes grow big as I stop teasing her.
"Deal." She says a smile on her lips.
"Okay then. You start." I say but she shakes her head.
"Oh no, no, no, you first. I asked first. Now Go!" she says sitting up.
"Fine, when we tried to ambush the rouge base I ended up getting stabbed by a Silver knife. With the silver in my system we quickly retreated, I ended up in the hospital, and while trying to flush the silver from my blood I died, but only momentary." I say trying to gage her reaction. She seemed to relax as I told her, which seems weird to me.
"That's a relief." she says and I raise an eyebrow at her.
"A relief?!" I question. She nods
"Everynight after we thought you died I had horrible nightmares about how it happened, your head getting chopped off, ripped limb from limb, dissected-" her breath becomes more raged and her forehead starts to form a thin layer of sweat. I reach over to her and pull her into a hug.
"It's okay, none of that happened. I'm right here. I'll never leave you behind again." I coo as she relaxes into my chest. "Just breath. Everything is okay." she breaths even back out and she pulls back blushing.
"I'm sorry," she says tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. "the images just came flooding back." I rub her arm gently.
"It's okay." I say lightly. "why don't we get to bed. It's almost 1." she looks over at the clock and nods laying down. She turns so her back faces me. I get up and turn off the lights before getting back in bed. I look at Betis silhouette in the moonlight. How did I ever get so luck? "Good night my love." I whisper.
