Eleven p.o.v
"I'm walking away from the hurt" I whispered opening the door.
Once inside the classroom I sat down and laid my head down on the table. I heard someone tap my shoulder and I lifted my head, a kid that sat next to me handed me a piece of paper. I looked at him with a confused expression. He pointed towards Mike and I nodded giving, Alex? I think, that's his name. A small smile. I opened it and it said:
El, can we please talk after school, same place? - Mike 🖤
I looked up to meet Mike's eyes and he looked at me pleadingly.
Okay. No Isabella. Alone. - Eleven.
I folded the piece of paper and handed it back to Alex and he gave it to Mike. Mike opened it eagerly and smiled when he saw my answer. My mouthed a 'thank you' and I nodded turning my attention to the board. The bell rang, meaning the end of the day. I got up and walked to the back of the school, inside of the building, sitting down on a rock. I waited for Mike looking at the wall blankly. After a while I felt a soft hand on my shoulder, I looked up to see Max giving a sad smile.
"El, I think we should go home now. You've been waiting for some time." She said and I nodded standing up. As we made our way pass the school yard, I saw Mike running towards us.
"I'm so so sorry, I had to drop Bella off at her house because my mom couldn't, And since you didn't want her with me-" he said
"It's common sense, if we were gonna talk about something private, she doesn't need to be here" I said angrily.
"I'm sorry I wa trying to be-" mike said.
"Nice. Of course. Go home Mike there's nothing to talk about" I said as Max tried to drag me along.
"Max please leave" Mike said
"Excuse me!?" Max asked looking him in disbelief.
"I need to talk to El" Mike said.
"And you made her wait half an hour" Max stated coldly.
"I was trying to do the best I could" Mike said.
"Bullshit. Next time you want to talk to El. Make sure that's your priority, not other shit. El has other things to do besides waiting for lame ass. She has a live too Mike, she won't wait around for you to get your head of out your ass her whole life. In fact I won't let her! Leave her the fuck alone, cause if you don't, mark my words I'll make you" Max said angrily looking at him.
"Why are you angry at me. I didn't do shit to you" Mike said pissed off.
"Because I was the one that saw her crying her eyes out for you. Shit Michael, you can be such a dickhead sometimes" Max said.
"Well you don't decide for her" Mike said grabbing my hand forcefully.
"Mike.." I said.
"Let her go!" Max said pulling me.
"Max..." I tried to reason.
"No he made you wait now it's his turn" Max said.
"Both of you stop!" I snapped.
"Max, 5 minutes, and we will leave, I promise" I said.
"But El" Max said.
"You heard her" Mike said.
"Mike shut up!" I glared at him.
"5 minutes" Max said glaring at Mike. Mike pulled me along to our usual spot and I let go off his hand as soon as we arrive.
"What!?" I said angrily.
"I know you don't deserve what I'm doing to you, all I'm doing is hurting you. But if there is anything I want you to know is, that it's not you, or because you're not pretty enough. Because Eleven, you are the most beautiful human being I've ever met. And I don't wanna hurt you, I hate myself for that" Mike said.
"Then why would you change me? What is it about her that I don't have?" I asked sadly a few tears running down my cheeks.
"Bella has a hard live, and I want to help her" Mike sighted.
"And that's why you don't like me anymore?" I asked.
"I need to make sure that what I feel towards you is love, but how can I know if I don't see other people, if I haven't felt this ever before. Bella she makes me feel things that you make me feel. And I need to figure out why" Mike said.
"So you left me because you're scare of falling in love" I said.
"No no I'm not scared, I just don't understand it and it's frustrating-" he said.
"So you are running away from it, because you don't understand it" I stated.
"I'm not scar-" he began.
"Let me just make one thing clear. You were the one who chose to give up on us, not me. You were the one who ran away because of fear, you were the one that was too scare to fight for whatever it was that we felt for each other. You were the one that gave up" I said tears running down my face but not because I was sad but because of anger.
"I'm not-I don't want to-I need to figure out whatever it is I'm going through. I can't lie to you El. Fake everything is fine when it's not, you deserve better, you deserve to know how I feel" he stuttered.
"Hopper once told me, 'don't loose yourself trying to hold on to someone who doesn't care about losing you', so that's what I'm gonna do. The only sad thing about all of this is that with all the smiles you brought me , I never thought you could cause me so many tears" I said as I wiped my face with my hands.
"El I don't know how to not hurt you, tell me what to do" Mike said desperately.
"Move on. Because if you truly loved me, you wouldn't feel the need to find the love that was in front of you in the first place. You want to know what Love is Mike. You what to know how it feels. Love is when the other person's happiness is more important then your own. So go ahead, I don't want someone who is not willing to stay." I said.
"You need to understand it's different with guys. We don't just fall in love at first sight and if we do, then we need to time to make sure is not just a mistake" Mike said.
"Don't you dare make this about guys! Not because you're a boy it means you can't fall in love! That's so stupid, so what? Does this mean that because I'm a girl, I can't go out with other guys?" I said angrily.
"No-" he began.
"The people that are quick to walk away are that ones that never intended to stay. Goodbye Mike" I said looking at him sadly before walking away.
"I didn't want things to end like this" Mike's yell after me.
"Me neither Mike" I whispered.
"El What happen?" Max asked embracing me into a hug.
"You know you really love someone when you can't hate them for breaking your heart" I said crying into her shoulder.
"I'm so sorry" Max said.
