Isabella

It was just as I was getting into my PJ's when Garrett came into my room, once again, without knocking. When I saw him I only rolled my eyes. Though, I shouldn't be, I was used to it and it didn't bother me as much anymore.

Garrett's eyes widened and he backed up. "I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay, Gar Bear." I patted my bed as I slid on my shorts. "Tell me what's up."

Garrett nodded and sat on my bed, awkwardly watching me change. Then he looked at the floor. I unclipped my bra from under my shirt and took it off, throwing it in the hamper. I learned this trick specifically because of the three boys living under the same roof.

I sat beside him. "Want to tell me what you're doing in my room this late?"

"I wanna tell you my story."

"And it couldn't wait till morning?"

Garrett looked at my clock that read 11:59. When it turned to 12:00, he said "It's morning..."

"Smart ass." I laughed. "I meant morning, morning."

Garrett started to whimper and tears filled his eyes. "But I can't sleep and it's bothering me."

I sighed and rubbed his back. "Okay. Tell me."

"Yeah... I'm gonna need emotional support for this."

I laughed and held my arms out. "Come."

Garrett rested his head in my lap and I rubbed his head.

"When I was eight, my parents had a huge fight. My... my dad killed my mom... then... he ran. He left me. I was put into a home. But I ran away. The people at the home didn't even care so social services didn't know until they checked in. But I was too far away by then. I skipped town with some money I stole from a kid at the home and I met Archer and Isaak. I lived at the elementary school I pretended to go to for a while. But then they found out, Isaak took me in and his mom enrolled me in the school for real... They are legit the only family I have."

Garrett buried his face in my shirt as he let out a sob. I rubbed my eyes from the tears building within them and held Garrett close. I let him sit up and hug me properly.

I pressed small kisses to his temple and it calmed him down slightly. "Poor baby. It's okay."

He pulled from me, bit his lip, and tried to stop crying. "I... I..."

I shook my head and held his head in my hands. I shushed him until he was silent, and I wiped his tears with my thumb. "I'm going to take you to your bedroom."

"But..."

"I know you don't want to be alone right now. I'll stay with you until you fall asleep."

Garrett nodded and took my hand as we went to his bedroom. We laid down and he put his arms around me. He stared at me for a minute.

"I love you, Isabella." Garrett said. "That's why I told you."

"I love you too."

It was seriously heavy shit that these boys were going through. Isaak and his abusive sister and nearly nonexistent mother. Archer and his overbearing, abusive parents. And Garrett with his horrific backstory, and lack of parents. It all reminded me of Georgie and my sad story. We all have a past, but I'm just glad that we have each other now.
