Scene: You are with Joyce, Jonathan and Nancy trying to get the Mind Flayer out of Will.
Y/N = Your name
You couldn't help but think about the time you thought Will was dead.
And you couldn't help but think it was better than seeing him used and controlled by a monster.
You were sitting in the back of the Byers car, you, Jonathan and an unconscious Will in the back row, with Nancy and Joyce in the front.
It really hurt you seeing that thing inside Will. You hadn't been in the hospital when everything apparently went horrendously wrong, but you had been there for the interrogation.
God, you could still hear his screams.
You'd been waiting outside his home, planning to finally tell him your feelings, but as soon as you saw Will unconscious in Joyce's arms, you knew something was horribly wrong.
So they'd told you the whole story; the real reason Will had gone missing that year.
They'd tried to get you to stay behind with Mike and the rest of Will's friends after explaining their plan.
You refused.
So Joyce took you with her to the cabin.
Silence flooded the entire car as you drove to the cabin with the Byers and Nancy. Nobody said anything, but everyone knew that Hopper's plan relied on us getting the Shadow Monster out of Will.
You were going to get that piece of shit out of your crush if it was the last thing you ever did.
And you had a sinking feeling it might be.
The car came to a screeching halt and you were instantly out and running into the cabin. You found a mattress on wheels and rolled it out into the living room, placing it by the fire.
Jonathan came in seconds later, cradling Will in his arms, followed by Nancy, who was gripping onto some rope, and Joyce finally entered carrying as many heaters as she could carry.
After assisting Joyce in plugging in as many heaters as you could you sat down next to the mattress Will laid on.
All you could do now was wait.
~~~~~~
Hot. So very hot.
You were covered in dripping sweat, your shirt clinging to your frame.
And Will still wasn't awake.
But then Will's eyes snapped open.
He started screaming. Loud screams that were full of pain and anguish. Quickly, you covered your ears and shut your eyes, trying to block out reality. It didn't do much, but it helped with coping.
Suddenly, you felt an increase in heat, so you opened your eyes. Joyce was cranking up the heat, and Will's screams were getting louder.
Joyce and Jonathan started arguing if this was even worth it, until Nancy cried out and pointed at Will's neck.
Black lines were flowing up Will's neck. Dear God, it was working! All of this was going to be worth it! You were going to get Will back.
Unfortunately, you forgot the universe hated you.
With newfound strength, which was probably the Mindflayer doing everything it could to stay inside Will, he managed to rip the rope from his right hand and tried to untie the left.
Joyce ran in and ripped his hand away, but you and everyone else were horrified when Will's hand wrapped around Joyce's neck.
"Will stop!" You screamed, trying to pry Joyce loose, ignoring the sweat. "You're going to kill her!"
Will glared at you with venomous eyes and for a second, they softened, as if Will recognized you.
His grip on Joyce slackened and she was able to break loose, taking a deep shaky breath, just before Nancy shoved the heated iron against Will's leg.Will screamedin pain as black smoke flew out of his throat.
You stepped away from the smoke as it rushed through the door, hands covering your mouth in fear and disgust. You watched Nancy chase after it, but instead of following you immediately went down to Will.
You gripped his hand as Joyce stroked her youngest son's hair. "Will, come on baby, wake up," Joyce pleaded under her breath.
Will didn't move.
Suddenly, you felt something squeeze your hand. Tears fell on your face as you smiled, and Will meekly opened his eyes. "Mom?" He asked, weakly.
"Will!" Joyce sobbed and a smile grew on her face, throwing her arms around her son.
Jonathan was also crying, Nancy comforting him until Jonathan left her to hug Will.
"Is Y/N here?" Will coughed as he tried to sit up.
"I'm right here Will," you grinned at him, taking his hand.
"Did I hurt you?" Will asked, and You could tell he would cry if You said yes.
"No Will,"you assured him, still crying, "you didn't hurt me,"
"Oh thank god," Will threw his arms around You in a hug and you hugged him back.
Jonathan and Joyce sensed that the two needed some alone time, so they picked up the heaters and went outside to put them in the car.
As the door shut, You looked back at Will, the hug having ended.
"Are you really okay?" You asked softly and whateverwalls he had left broke. "No!" He sobbed and buried his head in your shoulder.
You don't know how long it lasted, Will crying into your shoulder and you hugging him and telling him it was okay.
"Thank you Y/N," Will sniffed, and looked up at you with tears still brimming in his big, soft chocolate eyes.
You didn't hesitate to kiss him, but you were surprised when he kissed back.
No words were needed when the kiss broke.
Then, hand in hand, the two of you walked out of the cabin andinto the car.
It seemed something good had come of this tragedy after all.
