Emily's POV

"Take me to heaven, A Dante,' I whispered in his left ear. We are in the hospital roof. It's a bit chilly for the hospital gown. I shivered under the coldness. Dante unfolds his wings and wraps them around me, warmth enveloping me. I felt less chilly and at ease.

"If you want to go to heaven, you have to die and pass the intermediate purgatory. I'm not having that." Dante fumed.

"But you can bring me back. Isn't that what you do? You will bring me back, right?" I probed. He shied away from my eyes. He wouldn't look at me.

"That's not how it works, Emily. You know that I don't have the Emerald stone."

I wanted to shout at him. What was wrong with him? This is not what Dante would have said. "Okay. At least give me a ride to the sky. I don't have wings and I would like to fly. You can't possibly deny me that now, would you?" I looked at him, a mischievous grin plastered on my face.

"With pleasure." Before I could even take a breath, I was in the air. It was swishing my red hair away from my face. A yelp escaped my lips. "Dante!" I shrieked.

"What? You said you wanted to fly." He chuckled. He sounds so cocky, I turned to look at him, despite the air stinging my eyes.

A different but familiar face grinned down at me. The eyes were so red, they shined. I shrieked in horror. I was aware of my position, but I was pushing the guy away. I'd rather fall than look at those crimson eyes. They're bloodcurdling.

"Let go of me, Sebastian." I trashed at him. He was laughing the whole time.

"Oh my, are you not afraid of heights?" He loosened his grip on my arms. I screamed.

This is a dream. It has to be. I shrieked as I slowly descended to my death bed. The depth was too deafening. I could still hear Sebastian's chilling laugh.

"Goodbye, Fire Queen."

"Emily!" A voice sounded from a distance. As I opened my eyes, a face appeared before my blurry vision. It reminded me of the face with crimson eyes. I flinched, unwilling.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." The face disappeared from my sight. It was Dante.

"No, you didn't. I just had a bad dream, that's all. What time is it?" The sun shone through the window, illuminating the room. I shielded my eyes from the light. "God, that hurts." I whispered. Dante went to close the curtains.

"It's just after one o'clock." He informed.

"What? Why didn't you wake me up?" I shrieked, getting out of bed. "I must look horrible. Oh my God, I'm so going to kill you for this Dante."

"You know, I don't see anything wrong with sleeping through the day. And you don't look horrific. At all." A chuckle followed.

"Not funny, Doofer. You do know I can fry your mouth if you don't stop laughing this instance." I threatened. For some reason, I froze straight after saying that. Did I just say that? What if he takes it literally? The agony soon ended when I heard him laugh. I turned to him, eyes narrowed.

Dante shot his hands, feigning terror although he was still laughing. "I'm just going to..," he points towards the door, reversing. "head downstairs before you...fry me." He made his way to the door. He's enjoying this, I can tell. I threw a pillow at him. He caught it with one hand. Damn I suck.

"Breakfast will be ready when you come down. But I have a better idea. We can have lunch, you know, and skip breakfast."

"Dante!" I shrieked at him. He dashed out, laughing.

~~~♥~~~
"Hi Dorris." I greeted as I took a seat by the kitchen counter. She handed me breakfast. Just then, Dante jogged down the stairs. I rolled my eyes. He's acting childish lately.
"Hello again, sleepyhead ."
