Chapter 3: Victorique's Point of View

I’ve been here in this library ever since I transferred. I was never able to get outside and see the beauty of Saubure. But I cannot do anything about it, I have to obey what my father wants. 

A day came wherein my wellspring of wisdom told me some good news. Somebody was going to come for me today, and he will be the one who could save me from this chain of boredom, and most especially from the grasp of my father.

I expected a knight in shining armor. But when that guy arrived, I saw a wimp running hopelessly up the stairs to see me. He had black hair and eyes. He looked at me in astonishment. He was holding a strand of my hair which I intentionally dropped down to the first floor.

“So you’ve come.” I told him, but when he heard that, I saw an unlikeable expression, he looked like an old man who can’t understand human words. I kept myself organized since this was our first meeting. “Tomorrow you’re going to come back here at noon.” I added.

He ran away after hearing that, he ran as fast as he could downstairs and immediately headed towards the exit. “How disrespectful!” I thought. But I assume this is better. I’d rather have a wimp than a super big guy who would have a very weak heart. I believe that the wimp I met today is the guy who has the strongest heart who will protect me at all costs.

The day after, I experienced the worst boredom ever. At the same time, I am feeling impatient waiting for someone to come. Few hours later, the noon bell rang. I heard some running steps coming up the stairs. I saw him again, the boy whose name was Kujo Kazuya.

He stared at me like a lone dog. I was angered by it and said, “What are you staring for? I’m going to poke those eyes of yours if you don’t stop staring. Slave.” 

He bent down in defense as if I was really going to do that. He looked stupid. Like a total idiot. I wanted to kick him but I could not just spoil our meeting. According to what I was told, this is the time wherein I must let Kujo be. “See? You came back, Kujo.” I told him.

“How did you do that? How did you predict that I was going to come today?” he asked me without hesitation. 

I was annoyed by that question  since it was none of his business how I did it or what tactics I used. But what could I even do when I’m stuck up here and all I ever do was read and read books. Answering a few questions wouldn’t be such a problem. To make things simple, I just said, “There’s nothing that my Wellspring of Wisdom can’t do.”

That day when Kujo started talking to me normally was the day when he accepted my fate as his burden and he starts walking the same path I’ve walked so long alone.
