"Sorry!" is my immediate response before I can even see who I've bummed in to. I've learned it's smart to keep you head down when you're different.
"Actually it was my fault, I was looking at this map. I apologize." a light female voice says.
"It's fine" I said.
"Hi I'm Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Lizzy. This is Raquelle and Ethan. Are you new here?" Elizabeth says excitedly. She loves making friends and being nice in general.
"Hi I'm Stephanie. Yes I'm new. It's nice to meet you all." she says again in an accent I can't place. Scottish? British?
"We'll be glad to assist you if you need any help." Elizabeth states.
Thanks Beth for volunteering all of us. I think to myself."Yea, well show you around and give you the scoop on how the school works." Ethan says smiling.
Sigh. I guess were not going to breakfast after all.
"Well where are you headed the first bell will be ringing soon" I say.
"I have world literature with Mr. Creed?" Stephanie's says looking unsure.
"Ooh that's in the English building" Elizabeth states.
"Yea just stay straight, and take the doors to your right and it'll be the 600's building." Ethan's says with a friendly smiles.
"Thanks I'll see you guys around." Stephanie smiles and waves as she walks away.
As we part, I say good bye to Elizabeth and Ethan because they have first period together I head off to science. When I make it to class barely before the late bell I am surprised to see someone in my seat. I mean it's only the second week of school so technically we don't have seats. But it's where I've become custom to sitting. If Elizabeth hadn't been being so friendly I would've gotten here sooner and this wouldn't have happened.
Shaking my thoughts away I go to the empty sit behind the hulk of a guy sitting in mine. Walking past him I see that he has his headphones in, so I take this opportunity to say a few choice words.
"So many new people today, can this day get any better?" I say sarcastically.
"What was that?" he suddenly says. Making me freeze, there is no way he could have heard that.
"I'm not repeating myself." I say grimly as I take my seat.
"whatever" he shakes his head and turns back around.
