Heather's POV

Waking up from a long day felt good. Today is going to be a good day with my mom. It's going to be us just hanging out and getting to know each other. I'm so happy for this day. I got up, walked straight to bathroom to do my routine. I got out of the bathroom, went straight to my closet and picked a casual outfit for the day. I choose to wear a black summer dress with daisy flower detailing. I shrug on a cream colored knit cardigan to go with it. I search my luggage for my brown fedora and purple circled lens sunglasses. I went downstairs and smelled waffles and bacons. I went to the refrigerator and got out orange juice and took out a glass.

"Good Morning." Mom smiled at me.

"Morning." I smiled back, taking out the orange juice from the refrigerator.

"I'm done, you can grab your waffles and bacons. Do you remember what I told you last night?" She asked.

"Yeah, I do. Where do we begin?" I asked, taking a bite from my waffles.

"Slow down honey, we'll have a lot of time to go everywhere. Let's just eat first, okay?" She says, taking a bite from her bacon.

"Okay, I'm so excited." I said smiling widely.

"I'm gonna go get change and then we'll go." She said, running upstairs to change.

"Okay." I said, looking at my phone and decided to text Katherine and Logan.

To Katherine, Logan :

Hey! Sorry I've haven't texted you in a while. I really miss you guys! I'll text you in a bit. I'm gonna be hanging out with my mom today! I'm so happy! I hope the day goes well! You're probably sleeping, so I'll let you sleep. Love you guys!

I send the message.

"You ready?" She said, taking her purse and keys.

"Yeah, let's start this tour on!" I smiled, giggling.

"Hahaha, let's go." She smiled, chuckling. We got into a cab and went straight to the mall. Looking out in the window from the cab I'm in, looks really pretty.

"Sweetie, do you wanna go to the mall or somewhere else?" She asked.

"Yeah, the mall is fine. I wanna know if it's different from Miami." I chuckled. We got to the mall, it's not really different. We went to Churchill Square Shopping Centre. The first thing I walked into the mall, my mouth just dropped. I was so surprised how it looked so beautiful. After we went roaming around the shops around the mall, we decided to go look more places as in lakes, museums, parks and more. Until I asked if we could get Starbucks because I was thirsty from all the walking and carrying the shopping bags. She said yes and we drifted to Starbucks.

"Hello, may I take your order?" A lady in her mid- 20's asked.

"Yeah, I would want a Grande Caramel Ribbon Frappuccino. Do you want anything?" I asked my mom and she shook her head.

"That'll be it." I said.

"Okay, your total is $5 dollars." I gave her a $5 dollar bill and smiled.

"You're order will be up." The lady said and smiled. My mom's phone rang and I looked at her confused.

"I'll be right back, I'm gonna take this." She said, answering her phone.

"Okay." Is all I said. I noticed it's different over here in Starbucks. The cashier would ask your name to call you by your name but she didn't ask and I decided not to ask.

"Caramel Ribbon Frappuccino?" Another lady said. I went up to her and said thanks.

I went outside and saw my mom saying 'I can't just leave my daughter', 'I'm giving her a tour.' She finally said okay, I'll be there. I don't know what just happened to make her say okay I'll be there but I know that she's leaving me alone. I walked up to her and she had this sad mellow face on.
